Yeah, Final Fantasy really has some memorable music. My favorite is probably some random stuff from Final Fantasy IX though.

This is great, I have the OSTs for 6 of the games, and sheet music would be nice. [addsig]

Then I defy reality, which is fine for me really, always wanted to.

As for the music, yeah it's very good especially FF Tactics.

Areies song is nice, but my favourite is the music from the rocky indian style place where red came form. I can't recall the name... might have been something canyon.. [addsig]

I really must agree with kage, FF7 (in my opinion) is the best ff (if not best rpg) game ever. But ya the music is great, I get mine from limewire. The best so far though is FFX only because its more modern that FF7.

Then I am unfathomable.

Everything Final Fantasy that I have witnessed is garbage, really - the series really went to hell around sequel one billion.

.....What!?

I'm sorry, FFX was s**t! Why didn't they just make it the next Final Fantasy movie?

Have you played the old FF's? If you have, how in the world could you think 7 is better? And on top of that, speaking of RPGs have you played Chrono Trigger or Panzer Dragoon (PD is amongst a billion other awesome Saturn RPGs), both considered by many to be amongts the greatest of the greats.

I'm sorry, I much prefer the old NES/SNES Rpgs then Today's RPGS they're too FMV driven and not gameplay. That's one reason why I really like the GBA.
If you're going "but I don't own any consoles" then download the emulators and roms for the games. They're wonderful!

New age gammers . . . grr. lol

I mean, I'm not putting your opinion down, but you wouldn't say that unless, for some odd reason, you hate old games.

However! I must agree that the music is great in all of these. But I'm just sick of Square all together, I might give some of their other RPGs a chance, now that they're part of the alimighty ENIX, but FF is dead to me.

WC: hey, you've played the worst Final Fantasy game to date.

I miss when RPGs were fun. Like in Arc the lad, Breath of Fire, and more recently, Persona I and II (which should really be the other way around lol).

WC, Omega, don't take offense, but the new Final Fantasy series is the biggest crock of s**t since the Resident Evil rip offs and add ons.(Besides the occational good one: Onimusha, Silent Hill). [addsig]

Shesh bite my head off..... I agree the classics are better, zelda for instance, and mario, but i must say mario 64 was good, but still it is in my opinion, after playing all ff games from NES and such, ff 7 was the best all around, because it really set the boarder for new age games, and MGS series, I thought MGS sloid snake was better than MGS2, even the older MGS were okay, but I must say I enjoyed playing in 3d instead of sprites. And as I said, the FFX music was better because of its mew age sound, I didnt necicerely say that it was better than 7 or and lower ff games. But still go up to any person who has played all ff games and they will say that 7 is the best, its this way because 7 set new standards for games, and yes I have played Chrono trigger, the older games from square are better than the sexed up girly crap square fed us in FFX and FFX-2 uggghh all crap I think, and dont get me started on 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the worst pice of S**T square has ever fed its fans, Just face itm games are on a slow decine, I go back to the old ones yes, but I dont go back as far as say ff legends and actually enjoy it. And if I quote myself "FF7 (in my opinion) is the best ff (if not best rpg) ever" I never said that 7 was the best rpg, i know there are A LOT of rpgs out there, i just thought 7 was the best in the ff series. And ff 6 that had a better story, but I liked 7s graphics and 3d better. This whole topic of ff games is where my name comes from, omega slayer, ive killed every omega weapon in every ff game out there, Yes I know they are called different from game to game, but you get the picture.

^^ haha, MGS2. What a waste of time. Who thought it would be a good idea to have a 40 minute cutscene to end the game along with a weak two minutes at max battle?

FF6 was the only one I played to completion, and it (mostly) rocked my socks off. The second half of the game trailed off a bit and the tight story got way to open-ended. It seemed like the developers ran out of time or stopped caring about it. Nonetheless it was an awesome game.

FF7 was lame. Lame story, lame characters, lame graphics, lame cutscenes, lame long-lasting battles. I went a few hours into it and never touched it again. FF6's story and characters were so much cooler and had me hooked right away.

I watched someone play through most of FFX. Let's just say that I must have been really really bored. I would never play that crap.
"Oh Tidus, I'm scared. I can never be as cool as my father."
"Yeah, well, I hate my father. He was mean to me..."
SHUT UP! QUIT BITCHING!

Yak: lol exactly

Omega: I didn't bite your head off. I was stating that FFX is a piece of s**t. So is 8 . . . Nine is way better then 8 . . . if you think Nine is the worst . . . you haven't played 8 lol.

See, it?s sad when people base their preference of one game over another because of the graphics. I mean, come on. When it comes down to it, it?s the gameplay, hands down.

MGS2 was fun, while it wasn't in a cut scene lol.

However, I know MGS3 will be awesome; Kojima specifically apologized for the amount of cut scenes in MGS2, and replaced almost all of it with gameplay. Which kicks ass.

And, yes, FFVI is amongst the greatest of the greats. (Previously released as FFIII in US on the SNES in case you didn't know).

All I was saying is that there are an insane amount of RPGs overlooked because their production value was lower and that's very sad.

Also, why did you say "I like older games too like Zelda and Mario" why didn't you use other RPG examples lol (jk, don't get your panties in a bunch!)

I can list off the top of my head 10 RPGs that are better then most of the FF games. But I digress. There are about three or four good Final Fantasy games in my opinion. I personally didn't like Tactics, but I'm not saying it's bad, I just didn't like it. (However, Fire Emblem rocks!).

There are so many out there and so many overlooked because of their graphics. I personally prefer 2d sprite RPGs then the 3d crap that?s out everywhere now. I mean, what the hell is wrong with side scrolling and aerial views?? NOTHING! ~sigh~ anyway, yell at me all you want, you're still wrong lol.

See, I want a full Mario game (even though Sunshine is great) to be like the first level in the Adventure mode on Smash Brother Melee. That would be great! [addsig]

FFVII's boss battle music is amazing, best music in any game ever, always got me excited in the battles

FF8's "Liberali Fatalia" (not sure if thats the exact name) is really good, as is FFVII's "One Winged Angel" and "Shinra Wages a Full Scale Attack". Obviously avoid the midi versions and grab the orchestrated ones, they are much better.

I once tried splitting up the Temple of the Ancinents music (FFVII) and examining each part, which teaches you a lot about how each part is important in the piece. I'd love to see some music anybody here as written, I've tried myself and failed miserably. [addsig]

I loved the music in the City of the Aincients (not the Temple, the forgotten City on the Northern Continent), as well as the Turks theme music and the Weapon theme music. [addsig]

I had a module on MIDI on my uni course (a s**tty little optional thing) and in it I had to create a piece of music for a dog food advert. We were allowed to work from a source, so I chose to work from "Descendant of the Shinobi", Yuffie's theme tune, and funked it up a little to make it more playful, like a typical dog food advert theme tune. I'll happily shoot it off your way, but be aware its not an original composition, just a modification on an existing piece.

The fact I knocked it up the night before it was due in also makes it somewhat simplistic
