Just wondering...

I have a few articles/tutorials on my website

and I was just thinking about putting a few of them up on Snarkpit. The thing is I would want to put just a little comment at the end or beginning of the article to say something about how the tutorial originally came from my site and you can find more at the site blah de blah. Just wondering how the admins who check over the tutorials would feel about that before I actually go ahead and submit anything.

we do not frown on poor tuts ( have you seen mine as proof) or great ones either, what we do frown upon is borrowed tuts, with out proper information as to its origins..

as my colleague as said, if its your work, you may have almost any accompanying messages included

how do you submit tutorials anyway?... i just made a nice tutorial on how to create a multi-level elevator with call buttons, inner and outer doors, and the ability to move to any given floor from any!

spent alot of time trying to find a tutorial out there that worked... couldnt find one so i messed around for over a week and made one myself !!!

btw... its for HL2SP, dont know if it will work in any others, because i dont have them to test.

Becuase you pumped a thread from SEPT 2003 you moron. What makes you think we want to see an ancient thread again? [addsig]

That's real cute. Guess what though, the point of searching is to prevent repeating threads, not to prevent repeating 4 post threads from 14 months ago. When it's that old, just make a new one, or better yet, if it's a technical question about tutorials ask one of the admins!

I made a new version of an already posted thread and someone called me a n00b. It hurt me deep inside. Maybe that is what Gen is feeling....

Calm down.

New tutorials are always welcome, you can submit them by using your control panel.

Just start a new thread in future, or PM myself, Leperous or ReNo. You can submit new tutorials via your control panel (top right ofd the screen).

But DONT resurrect threeads more than say, 2 weeks old without good cause. I'm gonna have to write a few rules on this, it's becoming an epidemic

You could have easily made a new thread for this, as yours is actually a different question to the one this thread is about.

The idea behind searching the forums as Yak says is not to dredge up past threads with new questions, but to enable people to possibly find an answer from some time ago - and use that answer. If the question isn't the same, or hasn't been answered before, private message an admin or post a new topic about it.
