I doubt a tutorials section would be necessary since there are already plenty of tutorial sites. There are plenty of sites for maps too I suppose, but I'm thinking this would be more for current Snark Pit members interested in UT instead of bringing in new people.

Maybe you'd want to see how many people would actually use it before you went ahead with it. I know several people here have used UnrealEd, but I'm not sure if anyone else has actually released anything. I think KFS said his future DM projects are going to be for UT, but I'm not positive. Anyway, it probably could at least be as active as the CoD section

They are really very different editors, though.

Halo rocks, and its vehicles are vastly superior to the ones found in UT2004 in my opinion. The one downside is there aren't enough of them, on the Xbox version at any rate, with only 3 different ones available to use (no banshee?!?!?!). Admittedly I've not played the PC version but on the Xbox the vehicles handle like a dream - popping wheelies with the ghost and jumping onto the roofs of bases, or powersliding the warthog to slide into 2 battling enemies and steal both kills. UT2004 just doesn't have these physics simulated nearly as well, but I feel it makes up for this by the variety of the vehicles. Fingers crossed Halo 2, with its Xbox Live support and much wider vehicle selection, will make a great game that much greater.

The vehicles are pretty sweet on the PC too. They handle well after you get used to them (they require you use the mouse for steering). There's only 3 Vehicles on the XBox version?? So, what are they? Warthog, Ghost, and the Tank? On the PC there's two types of warthog (I forget what the second is called, but instead of having a machine gun it has a rocket launcher), the Tank, Banshee, and Ghost. And I'm probably forgetting one or something. [addsig]

Amazingly enough, it runs on my P3 600 / GF2 / 128MB !
Almost all of the settings are turned all the way down, but it's still the same great game.

I played the demo last weekend, having never played any UT before, and I was completely amazed by the whole game. Definitely one I'll buy when it comes out. [addsig]

The original UT had two versions of that level before UT2003. Plus a Sniper Rifle, not that fiddly lightning gun. Or a Pyramid barring your view of the rest of the level. [addsig]

I used to play UT online quite a lot, in a clan and things, but left after it became too laggy on my modem. I've not had a net connection on my computer since I went to uni and so with UT2003 we just play it over our LAN, which is fun but gets a bit dull.

The UT2004 demo has proven so popular in my flat that Onslaught is on almost every day, though I rarely play it as I think I'll get bored of it playing it at the rate they do. Suffice to say all 5 of us in the flat have pre-ordered it and are finally getting around to getting ADSL installed, hopefully a week or so after our phoneline is put in next week.

DSL is terrific duncan, but very limited in its upload ability..

don't expect 5 PC's to be able to frag this game at once.. well lemme put it this way, my DSL has about a 15kbs upload, and thats considered excellent.. i hope yours is more.

We are getting 1Mb ADSL - the standard in this country anyway is 512mb. Hopefully that will make it good enough to play online with at least 4 - the fifth isn't really a big online games player (as in he has never done it, and I can't imagine he will much). [addsig]

i wouldnt know that the level is on previous versions of UT, because i dont play them.Ive only overwise played Unreal, which i think was made before UT

i am really poor, even by Arkansas standards, and i have my own network, didn't cost that much.. what is the price we are talking about where you live mike?

i pay 26 dollars a month for my dsl
i paid 100 dollars for my router
most pc's have IPX cards standard, but even tho, they only cost 5 to 10 dollars
the network wires, about 15 dollars a piece.

all total, not that much, especially if divided by many.

i did mine, all by myself...
