How about a discussion on why female mappers are so rare? A few obvious possible reasons:
- Women don't see the point of gaming.
- Women don't get thrills out of violence.
- Women don't get off on their hardware (big computer = big dick).
- In social interaction, women are much better at reading body language and facial expression. Online communities feel less "real" to women than men because the lack of these signals is more noticeable to women.
All generalisations of course, and perhaps false as well.

You're wrong about girls don't like violence
My mom was a hardcore DOOM player and QUAKE player at one point. Then she lost interest in Quake, sadly

So true - in my experience, men have a huge capacity to judge the 'tone' of a written sentence by what is said, the style of writing, and the timing. Women often don't get the same reaction out of the same thing.

I have to pull the old "I'm male. I will not understand you, no matter how smart I am, I cannot read all your emotions." sometimes and explain to my lady that if she wants to be fully understood she'll have to be pretty blatant with me. But if it's written I know what's going on.

| There were aa couple female mappers at the old RUST forums. DangerGal and Sara, and maybe one more. Leperous and Dietz probably would remember them. |
I only really remember Navyfighter, the 'man' was a font of all HL knowledge it seemed.
