From my (meager?) experience- confidence, style, independence, and humility are more important than raw looks. Most guys, if they dress decent and take care of themselves, clean up at least okay. The rest is what's important and you can work on it if you work on yourself as a person in general. Confidence doesn't mean arrogance, or being a control freak. Real confidence is being relaxed & comfortable with yourself. Part of this comes from being independent, which I'll get back to in a second. Confidence and style are also part of your body in a way. Confidence effects how you move, how you hold yourself, etc. I dance at clubs, which is a big turn on for women because most guys don't have the guts to do that (unless they are trashed). Style is important because it shows some individuality and whatnot. It can also- just as it does for women- 'show off the assets' so to speak. Independence - Most guys, no matter how tough they try to act, are very insecure. Women pick up on it when a guy is doing that kind of self-conscious posturing, and when they are needy or possesive. You need to relax and have fun when you are with someone. If you act like you're going to be crushed if they don't like you... they probably won't. No one wants that kind of pressure on them, it's a total turn off (for men as well as women). Humility is important because noone likes someone who can't laugh at themselves sometimes. It also shows you have self-confidence- enough that you can take a few hits and still feel good about yourself. Finally... yeah being hot still probably doesn't hurt wow I should write a book |
Some nice thoughts, Jinx, but really there's no one way to achieve any of these (dancing at clubs isn't surefire of course). A woman just wants a guy who can have power or control over any given situation while not encroaching upon her own.

Yeah, that was just an example of something that seems to have worked for me. And I like the way you phrased that last bit ![]()
[edit] you know, Solid Snake looks a lot like Snake Plisskin (Escape for New York, classic cult action movie)

That's bizzare... in Metal Gear Solid 2, Solid Snake uses the name Plisskin... maybe it's connected some way, or maybe I just remember wrong...

So he's "just like a man" because he can beat an army of men. What does that make the army of men?

I'll try anyway.
I think the problem lies in the interpretation of the word manly. I see as a general work which describes something "like a man". "Like a man" however, does not necessarily mean strong or brave, it's more of what the typical man is. I hope it's understandable now that one of the men from the army is more manly because simply he is more typical of the average man.
...haven't typed that much in a bit.
