Oddly enough though, I can still do a printscreen and paste that info into a bmp on my own...
And idea what's going on? [addsig]

i had this sort of trouble on 2 separate occations..
1) i had a questionable codec for running my movies.. i doubt this is it, but feel i must mention it.
2) i have a new office keyboard, it changes the functions of the F keys.. i have to remember to shut them off prior to loading HL..
hope this helps monkee.. truly it sounds like something as driver clashes, or program ones

What codec was it, orph, can you remember?
And I've had this keyboard for years, and I only run generic keyboard drivers for it...
But I don't even think that it's a problem of the f5 button itself, because I also have my p key bound to "snapshot," and it does the same thing... [addsig]

sadly, no, but i have a solution, assuming this is the issue..
go HERE and download the gordian knot codec pack.. it is everything, or mostly everything you need for current up-to-date video viewing.
un-install everything else you have.. all codec's and install everything gordian.
assuming the codec is the issue, i would un-install what you have, re-boot, and see if the F key is functional.. do not forget to use regclean to remove all that crap left behind.
*crosses fingers*
hope this helps bud
[edit] i get all my codecs from www.doom9.org [/edit]

*bumps*
i assume since you didn't get back on this, that the codec was not responsible?
shame, i was so hoping it would be that easy..
there is always the option of uninstalling the drivers, and allowing windows to refind the thing..
i would hope you are using at least win2000, if not contact my PM, i may have something that will get the keyboard working again.
