Have any of you guys seen this game ARMA 2 yet? Its really pretty, wide open and loads of fun. It reminds me so much of Operation Flashpoint. I have had a blast playing the free demo the last few days.. I am about to go out and buy the game.

Yes, it's pretty epic. Playing the demo gave me a really good "games like they don't make them any more" vibe, this one clearly isn't dumbed down for the mainstream in any way shape or form. You can do quite literally, everything.

Not sure if I want to dive into the full version right now, but if really detailed military games are your sort of thing, this is as close to perfect as it gets.

Muhnay, it is made by some offshoots of the original Operation Flashpoint team (Bohemia Interactive Studios). I used to play ArmA on a regular basis either through public servers on the co_evolution series of maps or more often I would hook up with some guys I used to play Op Flash with.

Capture the Island mods are great fun if you have 4 - 10 people you can rally on a private server. If you're interested in playing with us give us a nod, keep in mind the timezone difference - we're semi serious and there are much bigger communities based in the US who go for realism. ShackTactical comes to mind as the best example - they have organised fireteams, command structures, coordinated insertions/extractions, CAS etc.

Here they are:

^^ Everything he just said + It was pretty fun playing the multiplayer portion of the demo (for the first ArmA of course)

Speaking of which, i think I'm going to redownload that and have another go.
