Wild Card! What an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Good to hear you're doing well and indeed, fantastic to see an ol' timer
Things are quieter around here these days but we have a good core of people still mapping, a splendid chap called Riven whips them all into shape with regular small scale competitions.
As for the oldies, Orph appears from time to time, he was without the internet for a while. Leperous is away studying stars and other such funk, ReNo is there.. he beavers away making crates. As to the rest, they occasionally surface but many are tied up with jobs, real life etc and have moved on (Ferret, Tracer, KFS etc)

Wow, your own plane? Jesus mate, good going! Glad things are going well for you. Well, except for the poor part, but hey, guess buying planes will do that to a man! Do they hold their value better than cars?
I'm doing ok ta. Working for a wee game dev studio (Outerlight, we made "The Ship") these days as a designer, and while it certainly has its ups and downs I get a lot of creative input there and work with a bunch of cool folks. Spending some of my spare time doing side projects too (*cough* Crate Expectations *cough*), so very much still enjoying game development work.
I don't frequent the Snarkpit as much as I used to sadly, and have to admit to not even having HL1 or 2 installed these days, but I pop in now and then to have a wee reminisce or join in a conversation. It's still as lovely a place as ever, just... more peaceful

Half-Life isnt installed? THATS BLASPHAMY!!
General Aviation aircraft (ie: small 2 or 4seat single engine aircraft for the most part) if well maintained, not only keep their value, but they can appreciate as well. But golf as a hobby would have been much less expensive. But on that note, golf is also much less exciting.
Good to see you're in a fun job. I graduated college in April a second time (now hold a diploma and adv diploma) and still cant find a job .. *sigh* someday soon I hope.
I really should crack open VHE at some point and do something though.
I spend a lot of my online time now either playing Eve Online (www.eveonline.com) which is painfully expensive given my current situation, but just as equally addictive, despite the game being very boring. (Google 'Zero Punctuation Eve Online' to see what I mean, his review is 101% accurate) I also spend a lot of time at CriticalSecurity.net and develop a Gentoo-based Linux LiveCD called FLY (http://www.linuxfly.net) for you Linux fans.
I took a quick peak at Crate Expectations and it looks awesome. Though I dont have an Xbox (or a 360) to play it. Port it to PC! :P (or Blackberry is cool too)

/me is still alive, and old as ever.
Have no real options yet for internet access where I live yet, but soon (2010) maybe.
With nigh onto 2.5 years without access, tis a wonder that I survive.
/me misses you all terribly.
I must ask though, have any of you reached a maturity level to where some of the old things that I foretold you'd come to believe happen yet? What I'm asking is, do you still not understand where this old man was coming from when you thought to yourself "this old fuck is off his meds again"?
I know that some of our discussions were not that memorable, but I know each of you have some idea what I'm talking about.
/me waves at master wildcard.

Jon in the year 2009 you still dont have (stable) internet access?? By the way ever do any trips up the frozen northlands known as Ontario?
How are the wife and kids? Any cute single daughters of age?
kidding! (that smily reminds me of Doc Brasso..)
You ask if we still think you're crazy, the simple answer would be 'of course'. Now I must ask you; what makes you think we've matured
(and I dont recall a non-memorable discussion, but maybe thats because I dont remember those less-than-memorable discussions)
Muhnay, I dont remember your name, unless you are Money$hot who I worked with for a bit on a map or two, I think part of the Snarkpit map compilation map. Or something. Something about a map with iron molted steel equipment or whatnot.

Where I live there is no dial-up... THANKFULLY! There is no Cable nor DSL. We do have access to satellite, but that requires an exorbitant upfront moneys. There is also this wireless card you can get from the cell phone company, but where I live there is only 1 bar and connection is iffy at best. However, there is a cell phone booster available... At a price, for which you can imagine.
My question about the level of maturity was directed at Snarkpit as a whole. I realize that maturity is a question unique to each individual but all I am interested in is the part pertaining to some of the conversations to where I was told just how full of shit I was as the solution for said conversation.
Of course this takes into account that some of the conversations were shit to begin with IE "Gay rights" "Religion" and "Abortion issues" I am only interested in the topics to where the perspectives were "AGE" related thinking in the replies.
Also, I am not interested in any "I told you so" stuff. I just like thinking "Wow, the kids are all grown up... *sniff* "
In all the years that I was on the net, I have received several PM's stating "I finally understand what you mean when... blah, blah"
Its comforting to hear sometimes.
However, this doesn't exclude the fact that I am full of shit.

Ahahahahah,
That's gold stuff.
Hmm, I never disagreed with anything you said Orph, I remember the good old times you offered me quite a bit of help with mapping.
I remember it was a tough job too, seeing as my English was at it's humble beginnings. I guess you could say I've matured in that respect, I'm fluent in 3 languages now YAY!
Tell ya what it's fantastic to see all the oldies returning, reminds me of the good old times..

Really? That's weird... do you have a landline? Because I thought dial-up didn't require any additional infrastructure other than a landline?
Darkness moves anyone? Only joking, welcome back hope you stick around.
