its like betadine, an antiseptic.. yes

[edit] sorry it took me so long to answer, i honestly hadn't noticed anyone asking about the belly button..

i am sure you all are aware of the umbilical cord, well once its severed, the thing needs antiseptic to prevent infections.. its really a major open place for such..

without being gross about afterbirths and such, thats all i can say..
