Hey everyone,

Today I found out that my favorite game of all time, Gothic 2, is having a 50% discount. It is only 4.99$ now (and €4,99 over here).

Lemme tell you why this game is so awesome:

The game has:

-A very detailed world, it has caves or locations which don't belong to a quest and which you will maybe find only after 4 playthroughs or even more. So there's lots to explore.

-Over 190 awesome Side quests to earn extra Experience Points at

-Each NPC has his own background story and job... and has his/her house to sleep in as well. (Not like Morrowind when they never go asleep smiley)

-A huge amount of monsters, which vary a lot from each other

And a lot more! Not sure what else I can try to convince you guys to buy this awesome game smiley

Click here to go to its steam page

And don't mind the lousy screen shots... I assume they are taken from the beta and they don't make sense anyways. Only a few are worth having a look at.

Anyways, lemme know what you'll do smiley

Oh and A Happy New Year too!

Perhaps a gothic 2 year?

You're right it is an awesome game and after completing it once I just want to complete it again just because of the many other options you have.

It's absolutely one of the greatest games I've played so It's worth the 4.99$ (or €4.99) smiley

Looks like the old Hexen 2.
It would have to be something special to beat Fallout 3 though. The strdegy guide to FA3 is over an inch thick. I don't think its possible to explore the entire world...

Still, I'll keep this one in mind.
Its not 3rd person tho is it? I cannot stand 3rd person.

@Orph

Well, yeah it is. Though you can play in first person mode when roaming the island, but when your sword is equipped you'll automatticaly go into third person mode.

But it plays really well, I'll possibly make a very short gameplay video today showing a fight with a monster.

Nah, tis OK ol'man. With my motion sickness issue, third person throws me for a loop anytime I even glance at it.

Sad though, I have three years worth of games to catch up on.
*scratches Gothic off list*

Ok, where were we?

Oh I love Gothic I and II (especially with Night of the Raven), definitely worth the dough. Do yourselves a favor and steer clear of Gothic III though.

Just noticed that the game is available with a 50% discount again, just like last year.

And again, I want to say that you should really get it.
Last week I started a new playthrough and even now I discovered new quests and areas. I really really like the world map in this game. It is so detailed and atmospheric.

Due to the 3 guilds you have to choose from (you can only choose 1), the replay value is very high as well, since you can choose for a different guild the next time. And then you can also see what it's like to be a magician or something else. It may all sound a little common, but it is different than the other games of the same genre. I cannot really explain why, you just have to play it to see what I mean.

The story makes you want to keep on playing as well, especially with the gold edtion from the Steam store.

Not trying to force anyone of course, I just think more people should give it a try smiley
