rofl, its so pathetic tbh. Games keep more kids OFF the street than they do make them go out and kill people.
Its a s**tty excuse but for such a small sentance it worked for them.

I play GTA plenty of hours a day, racing around and having a fun time in a virtual reality world, right along with my senseless murder of innocent marines on Natural Selection, and my bullet time slaying of The Specialists; and not one time have i wanted to do it in real life.
stupid parents + violent games + stupid kids + lack of common sense + guns(ammo) = murder/harm
This is the case about 99.9% of the time IMO.

99.9%??
What about the other .1%!!!?

are they forgetting something...I mean normal 14 and 16 years don't have shotguns. Right there says something about your society. Often I think that America plays with fire and wonders why it gets burnt every now and then.
true, true ![]()
I live in america, and i agree...The stupidity rate climbs everyday here, and people wonder why?
I am probally one of the reasons, but there are people 100x stupider than me..Yes, its hard to believe
People today are just trying to find ways to ban all video games that have explict or mature content, because they see video games as a waste of time...I think video games actually decrease the suicide rate in teens because if not for video games, where would depressed people stick all of there time?

lol...
I think the world is getting to the point when having a child needs to be authorized by the government, too many on the streets or with hideously stupid parents...

if i see another stupid statistic like this crap i am going to scream.. what i wanna see is the comparative analysis of what the people in the other countries turned to in lieu of the gun as a means of ending lives with..
if people are so prone to kill with guns, they will kill without them..
now damnit, stats like this, are generated by the same stupid people, who claim video games cause crime..
anyone who buys into lop sided stats like this, are no smarter than the stupid people who believe the games are the issue..
if people kill because of guns, people will kill without them as well... and you are foolish if you don't realize it..

Orph...it's a lot easier to kill with a gun than bare hands. With a gun it can almost be an "oops" moment. To kill someone otherwise with pure physical force would be viciously brutal and take more than an instant. It's not quite the same.
spoken like a true conformist ![]()
try replacing every word gun with video game.. it has the same message .. geeze you guys, your simplistic viewpoint really chaps my ass..
i will grant you, the killing power of a gun is more than say a knife or even a club, but s**t guys, once you are dead, who gives a f**k how it happen and better yet "WITH WHAT"..
its true, i could kill you just as dead with my hands, and if i felt you deserved it, would feel the same either way.. but i am telling you this straight up.. people who are prone to kill, will kill and the weapon wont matter one damned bit..
please get off the gun kick, its stupid, and its embarrassing to associate with people whom think thus..
if you feel guns are the real culprit here, you ARE just as stupid as the ones blaming games...

Yer I agree with Gorby. Guns are so easy to kill with, point and pull, done. And no mark is left at the crime scene apart from a bullet, something there are so many of.
Um.. guns leave allot of evidence. the bullet is unique to the barrel that fired it, as are shell caseings to a lesser extent. plus there's powder residue if your close enough... ect.
-Orph, it's totaly fruitless argueing this point with anyone from UK/Canada, or really, any other devloped country. we americans are pretty eccentric internationaly where this topic is concerned.

yeah, but i am so tired of the selectiveness of their narrow views..
how can anyone say games don't cause violence, but guns do?
anyways.. until someone open minded enuff to at least admit they are similar i bow out of any further posts on the subject..

Doc B...

What you said Orph, about if people WANT to kill, they WILL, explains a large portion of the Murders in the US i would think, but (Sorry another stat for you!) I asked a friend of mine who is apoliceman, in fact he was the best man at my wedding, so I know I can trust this, If he would like a gun he said no because he looked into it and found the figure that 40% of police deaths by shooting is caused by friendly fire.
On another note pertaining to Statistics, perhaps a better comparison would be to look at the whole of Europes shooting figures compared to Americas as Much like the Europe, each state has different laws, punishments and guidelines concerning fire-arms. Just to compare Britain to USA is unfair, a better comparison would be to compare the UK to a state in the US with similar laws. I think then you would see a comletely different comparison.
and besides 90% of statistics are made up anyhoo!
