The Snarkmarks don't bother me - set them to 0 if you like - I just find it curious that they could change without any apparent cause.

*thinks*

Perhaps the best explanation is "the ineffability of Leperous". That's right - he just can't be F'ed to sort it out

... or perhaps they change because I change the formula, smarty pants?

Now hold on just a second here. Let me see if I get this straight- If you change the formula, you get different results? Whoa. My mind, she is blown. [addsig]

Actually, if you followed the UK state education system to the letter it should be..

Nursery: 4-5, leave when 5 years old (sometimes 4)
"Reception" classes: 5-6
Primary: 6-11
Secondary: 11-16

thats roughly, and also it doesnt take into account peoples birth placement in the school year boundaries..

Primary - reception, year 1 to 6 (depending on where you live)
secondary - years 7 - 11 (ages 11 to 16)
college - 12 and 13 (ages 16 - 18)
University - 18+

I did years 12 and 13 at school not at college but my school was a sixth form school untill it closed (damb labour party)

with all those polls, the snarkpit is starting to look like a science magazine... i should probably post a poll to see "who thinks polls will make the snarkpit look too serious for a mapping site"

I'm not entirely sure how the American education system works, but I'm guessing these are roughly the same:

Elementary School = Primary School (3 - 11/13)

High School = Secondary School (11/13 - 18)

College = University

Correct? Just making sure I voted correctly!

Correct. this is pretty much how I thought of it.

Korn and Gollum have a good point though, I guess I should have just done age groups and had a seperate poll for education.

You're in a 6 year course Crono? I thought most universities had 4 or 5 year courses in the computer sciences :/ My course is 4 years (of which 1 full year is some general crap, including Boilers and steam engines )
