I reason I think this is cool is becouse I'm a huge IZ fan as you can see to the left <-------( I might even get a autographed picture from Wally himself. The way we got in contact is becouse I sent a peice of art from me to his site here http://www.wallyontheweb.com , In just for fun/fan art

My flatmate saw a single episode on some "Space Week" theme of a terestrial channels kids show. Well suffice to say he was impressed and so he found a guy who burnt DVDs of episodes he had collected. I'm not sure if its the entire collection (30 episodes maybe?) but its a nice thing to have in the flat, we've watched them all at least twice i think. Might take a look around for the DVD in shops if it has good extras. [addsig]

FLCL is great, but 6 episodes is a little too short for me, even for an OAV.

Have you seen Boogipop Phantom ?
If you like FLCL it's probably up your ally, not in the same playful sense of FLCL, but the same "what the f**k is going on" until the end, feeling is there. It was done by the same group who did Lain, which kicked ass as well. [addsig]

Evangelion: Confused the s**t out of me when I saw the final episode

FLCL: Pure genius. I am stupid. They ACT stupid. It's like we were meant to be.

Invader Zim: He will eat your eyes, then your brain, love him love him, nothings the same!

Though it is probably one of the finest productions I've ever seen, I find FLCL very, very unsettling.

Though most people try not to morally decipher it, I think I did, and I've come to the conclusion that it's about what growing up/being mature is: the main character (forgot his name) tries to act like a 'mature' and fails because that's not who he is, as opposed to Haruko, who understands perfectly who she is and doesn't worry about how people rate her on a scale of traditional 'maturity'.

The most badass moment of the series is in the last episode, when the kid, in uber-mode, zooms in to attack Haruko and suddenly zips out and kisses her - I straight-up applauded, with nobody else in the room. Owned her more than any possible beating.

I loved the soundtrack to FLCL. (A band called "The Pillows" did all the work for it, if you're interested). The overall show is pretty overwhelming in terms of scope, I'm really surprised at how they managed to fit that story into 6 little episodes. [addsig]

I must also confess my love for FLCL.

And whoa, I drew the same conclusion as Cassius. Main character's name is Naota I think. He's living in his big brother's shadow (who left for America to play baseball), and a lot of people refer to him as "so-and-so's brother."

Favorite episode is #4, with baseball, "swinging the bat", and all the erectile dysfunction jokes. Good stuff.

What is FLCL? I've never heard of it. When you say that that show was overwellming and unsettling do you think the same about IZ becouse it is also a little strange with its constent mentioning of farm animals, meats, and monkeys. The kids in Mrs. Bitters class are strange aswell

but I may not understand what you mean by that

FLCL is an anime (relatively short too, it was only 6 episodes long) and it's just incredibly weird... I don't even know how to go about explaining it to be honest...

Its really worth the watch if you're up for it... I've seen it 2 times now and I still don't know exactly what was going on per se. But all I know is that there are just some moments where it just seems brilliant, even though you may not know why. I always think of the ending of the baseball episode- that moment when he actually comes through and hits the "ball" is just fantastic. [addsig]
