I have a geometry methods test tomorrow and I have to be able to construct and prove some of the different points of concurrency for triangles, and I can see how the circumcenter, incenter, and centroid could have real-life application, but does anyone know of any real-life application for the orthocenter?
Refresher: Orthocenter is the point of concurrency for where the three altitudes intersect. Thanks!

Surveillance.
If you know three points or paths that form a triangle you can figure out an area in the middle (orthocenter) where you will have optimal viewing of all areas. How do they know where to put CCTV cameras? For example.
Finding the orthocenter of various points is also the main mathematics behind triangulation, which is pretty important.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Thanks! That helps a lot.

I'm glad I decided to post this question on the Snarkpit, because on other websites people don't know anything! I actually found websites that said that the orthocenter has no real purpose. Unbelievable! Well, thank you for your answer!

LOL
So much for me thinking I could help with a mapping issue.
