Greetings Level Designers, Long time no see.
How the heck is everyone, hope your all doing swell. Me I have been doing the law enforcement and school thing so I have very little time until recently, when I decided to go part time and focus more on school so I can knock it out and move up the chain at work.
I have started to map again for CS:GO, but was wondering where do we discuss and ask questions about that since it does not fall under the subject headers we currently have.
I was wondering, since CS:GO can now be published to your steam account, is having them on the PIT needed, can they be downloaded and added to Steam like previous editions of counterstrike?
Any changes to the tools you have noticed or can elude too?
Excited to hear about changes to the PIT and its continued presence online. I'm in and here to help with anything the site needs.
Stay Frosty my friends.

My next question is do we still need to Ratpack our maps or does the publishing tool in hammer do that for us now?

I'm outta the loop on the new publishing tool. Lots going in with my life at the moment too. Glad to hear you're doing well G4MER.
We will definitely see some steam integration with the new Pit when we can get that up and running. The idea is to keep it relevant with the steam push to centralize all content. We can still offer more robust feedback and interaction than a steam profile page I believe, by connecting it with our own features and tools, and making way for detailed forum and commenting features. Steam friends might as well be the user account credentials for the new Pit!

I found out that you do in fact still need to rat pack your maps prior to Workshopping it to Steam. I have a map on steam now. I like your ideas on integration.

Is there a way to upload HLDM maps on steam? I still enjoy creating HLDzm maps when I have time (just finished "A_Grim_Cube" and i've been getting good feedback).

Yea, I have all but my most recent 3 in my snarkpit profile. I don't have any uploaded right now though, its just placemarkers. I was going to upload them but when I created the place markers and posted screenshots it seemed fairly deserted around here so I didn't upload. I have all the files in zip folders and usually email my new maps to server operators and fellow mappers (we pass our maps around for testing and input before releasing). I'm going to upload next time I have some time, right now I'm working mon-sun to complete some electrical projects.

Hey!
Good to hear from you again, I've been fine. Right now I am in a train on my way to home from an excursion from school. It's a long trip so I'll play it for a bit now, I'll let you know if it helped me kill the time smiley
