There should have been some sort of "CS:CZ is now available for preorder! It will automatically download unless you tell it not to" a few days back pop up when you started Steam. Try right-clicking the CS:CZ Icon, see if there's an uninstall or delete option or something. I do know that it was possible to cancel the process, but I don't know about after it's finished. Yeah, go delete the gcf file under .../SteamApps/

Technically it isn't 'pre-loaded' it's just encripted. So in all actuality if you decripted it, you'd be able to play it right now. It's just like anything else "cached" from steam on your system. Just because their terminology isn't representative doesn't mean steam its self is screwy. I don't remember when it first loaded its self, but if I remember correctly it asked if I wanted to load it or not. In any case NOW it acts as any other game used by steam. As in it stays greyed out if you don't have it's content, and you can right click and load it or whatever. [addsig]

yeah it tried twice to download it without my permission before I figured out how to disable it. then i noticed it had downloaded a big chunk of normal CS was well, so I had to delete that pos too.

wonder how long until there's a hack to 'unlock' the auto-download of CZ? I will laugh. A lot.

Actually, Jinx, that hack comes... tomorrow, I think. It's called the release of the game.

Besides, there's no gain in hacking the steam pre-load over a regular cracked download or something. Still have to download it, and it's probably safer for a would-be warezer to get one not through a steam account. [addsig]

Any methods of decripted it? Not to play the game, just to laugh at how stpid valve was to put a game on my computer and not let me play it.

I don't know, man. I don't really care.

I read a review on it awhile back and they said the main game is Smart-Bot-CS. Which isn't much more then what I had expected. However, in the same review I also read that there is an 'extra' 'un-finished' mode. Which is like a single player campaign, if I read it correctly.

My assumption is that: that 'un-finished' mode is gearbox's work, before they left (got pissed at valve) and worked on Halo.

I'm really not sure what encription Valve used on it though, in any case unless you were offline while you were playing it, it wouldn't be a good idea. They'd see you playing an un-purchased copy and cancel your entire steam account via VAC.

I'd give it a whirl if I didn't have to pay for it, but other then that ... pfft, who cares? [addsig]

pfft...Gearbox. I lost all respect for them I had gained through Op4 by playing PC Halo and that crappy Bond game for the Gamecube. I heard that the extra content were some spiffy cutscenes from a story that was no longer used. I think it was the second company that had the game that did those, not Gearbox... Ritual maybe? eh, I'm talking outta my ass.

Embrace Steam, it's no worse than that Sierra tools crap that got installed with HL and its got a swank olive look.

I'm getting tirted of having to delete my blob file because steam f*cked up again...........that's the only problem I've been having with steam, and that once you've started a game, you can't instantly switched to a different mod.

And it seems to be down right now.

Bruce, there is a way, but it isn't written into the default games .res files.

When you make a mode, you must make a res file for the menu in the game. And there is a command which is something like "custom" or something, and if you put it in there, you can switch between any game you have installed. If you want it with games you already have installed, extract the file from the GCF files and edit it. I know that sounds tedious, but you can do what you're saying you can't. [addsig]
