It's an anime directed by Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira). It's unique only because of the way the film was made: it's entirely CG. They spent nine years creating the machines and software to make the movie. Other than that, Reno, it's Otomo anime. You know what to expect from that :P

I hate Michael Bay. He's a douchebag. He gets so much money to make such utter s**t.

Watched remake of "The Bad News Bears"

Much Thornton goodness here guys. Still a grade "B" movie but so stinking funny I had to pause it to catch my breath.

WARNING: If you are one of those weird people who dislike Potter because it portrays a bunch of unruly children do not watch this movie.

How would you compare it to Bad Santa?

I personally really enjoyed Bad Santa, but was a little afraid of seeing Bad News Bears. I'm just wondering how the two stack up.

You really should go see it... it's a hilarious movie, especially if you like to watch Thornton drink heavily, curse, and generally not give a f**k about life.

Additionally I saw King Kong tonight.

+ I thought it was a visual feast, and it really really picks up after the first hour is over.
+ CG Kong = Amazing. Jaw-dropping. You could see emotions flitting across his face...

- The acting was ho-hum, and the dialogue was laughable. Some cheesy bits as well.

Overall, worth seeing in theaters just for the visual experience. I wouldn't go out and buy this on DVD, or necessarily watch it again... but it definitely captured the beauty and splendor of Kong.

P.S. I now have a tiny crush on Naomi Watts, just so you know.

Just finished watching Serenity.

Without a doubt, the best sci-fi movie I have seen this decade. In fact, probably the best since the original Dune came out.

Watch it, you'll like it.

"Munich" is the type of movie that will change your day, no matter how you're feeling before you entered the theater. Surely, it puts you in a somber and pensive mood, and perhaps makes you think about questions that you never thought you would be thinking of otherwise. It makes you question what you thought you believed in, and what you thought you knew. It touches on the topic of love, revenge, redemption, morality, and loyalty.

Now I have a newfound interest in finding out more about the politics in the Middle East. It's a movie not to be missed.

Here's the synopsis for you:

"the director closed out the year with a powerful and thoughtful drama about the human costs of international terrorism. The 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany, were supposed to be a peaceful gathering of outstanding athletes from around the world, but on September 5, the games took a sinister turn when eight masked Palestinian terrorists invaded the Olympic village, killing two Israeli athletes and abducting nine others. The kidnappers demanded safe passage out of Germany in addition to the release of Arab prisoners in Israeli and German prisons, but when they arrived at the Munich airport they were met by German police and military forces, and in the melee that followed, all nine hostages were killed. In the wake of the killings, the Israeli government gave Mossad, the nation's intelligence agency, a special assignment -- to track down and eliminate the Palestinians responsible for the death of the Israeli athletes. A young and idealistic Mossad agent (Eric Bana) is assigned to the four-man unit created to wipe out the Olympic terrorists, but while he believes in serving his country, as their bloody work goes on he begins to buckle under the weight of his work and wonders if he can morally justify his nation's acts of revenge. My Dad doesn't like movies involving Germany and fighting jumping to the conclusion that they're all about nazi's and Hitler, which he has huge problems with. He's German and hates the way they're portrayed in Hollywood.

But the Germans aren't portrayed as bad guys in the movie. In fact, they only played a miniscule role in the plot. Thinking back, I don't think I saw a single German face in the movie.

Interestingly, Spielberg resisted portraying anyone in a negative light. The film even showed the perspective of the Palestinian terrorists. Some argued that the director is sympathizing with the Arabs, but I wouldn't go that far for someone who made "Schindler's List". It's a film everyone needs to watch.

Schindler's List.. A must see movie.

Just finished watching "The Island"

Good stuff really for a cast of mostly nobodies.

I kept expecting to hear "But I'm the chosen one"

(giggles)

You'll have to watch it. Its about some escaped clones and they are baffled about outside life.

Just finished Jimi Hendrix: Live at Woodstock. Pure unaltered sex. What an amazing musician, he's just... watch it. It'll bring a tear to your eye.

The Island ... filled with nobodies? Are you serious? Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi, and Michael Clarke Duncan are A-List actors, there buddy. Sadly, the movie is a crock of s**t. Anyway. (I would have said Sean Bean too, but the only good stuff he's ever been in is lotr and goldeneye)

I checked out Syriana today. Damn good movie. It's pretty hard to explain what it's about, but basically, it's oil in the middle-east and exactly how everything is interconnected with that. From the companies that benefit to the people who live there and even the power that is present. Clooney and Damon are probably the most known actors in the movie (however, Chris Cooper, Amanda Peet, Christopher Plummer and Alexander Siddig are present oh yeah, William Hurt too)

The movie is set up into individual "stories" that seem to intertwine. Not directly, per-say, but inevitably. It just shows the actions of these people and how they effect everyone. Very intelligent movie, also. It's peculiar how everything is played out, now that I think back on it, but it is done very well. Almost as if it's intentionally confusing you, but doing so to make a point. In any case, I'd suggest seeing it. However, it's nowhere near a "happy" movie by any means.

Speaking of movies and Far Cry ... let's talk about Uwe Boll ... the worst director on Earth.

This asshole has made some of the worst movies ever ... which are also video game adaptations: House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark.

This is what he has lined up for the next three years:

Bloodrayne
Far Cry
Postal
Fear Effect

Bloodrayne, which is obviously already done, comes out next month. The others should come out NEVER. I could understand a Far Cry movie if it was made like Rambo or something, but this guy couldn't direct a piece of s**t down the toilet.

Postal ... why? Just why? There is no basis for a plot ... at all. I'm actually pissed about Fear Effect, because that, unlike these other games, has a pretty good story ... which will be ultimately urinated on by this moron.

The only reason his movies are made is because of a certain German tax loophole that uses bad movies to reward his investors with a write-off. This loophole is fixed come January, so when his next several movies bomb, he's done for. Let us pray he is, anyway, since he's battling for the rights of the Half-life movie.
