Just watched scream, 2 thumbs up! this is one of the better horror films, i quite like the stuff by wes craven, although i haven't seen his early releases.

pre 1990 films lacked realism, as in fake blood, it looked fake!

I can highly recommend 'Highwaymen'. It's had bugger all publicity over here and the trailer makes it out as something that its not. I didn't have high hopes for it but I was genuinely surprised. Really good and a little different from the norm

Go see!

Dude, Where's My Country is the single worst compilation of English letters crudely arranged into semi-coherent 'jokes' and 'political satire' that any human being, living or otherwise, has ever or will ever bear witness to.

If you watched Moore's movies, and for some reason he's still coming off as sensible, credible, or retains a sliver of objectivity in his entire mindset, read Dude, Where's My Country, especially the chapter where he narrates as the voice of God, the part where he says France's perspective on Iraq is more credible because of their culture, or even his gut-wrenching attempts at humor. Humor, you ask? Perhaps that's a bit too generous. I quote: "Where's Osama Bin Laden? Well maybe he's... RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!!!"

Michael Moore has turned himself into a bit of a joke recently..

if you want to investigate the evils of the world and dodgy policies by Britain/America/Russia/France/etc you're much better reading high level textbooks on the issues - infinitely more accurate and just as interesting to read.

better still, it's worthwhile doing something about the bad people of the world, rather than just listening to some fat guys spin on the issue

Books like that are better, yes, but most people don't want to read them. They don't think they have time, and books are not as accessable as a film. The film does a good job of getting people who wouldn't otherwise have done so to think more about the issues. If they like, they can then go read a book as well.

And if it results in a different president or different government policy, then something has been done. Who cares if the book is drivel or the film is exagerated, the point is that it gets people to think about the issues. I think it is so narrow minded when people attack the style or content of Moore's 'work', as these things are somewhat irrelevant.

just finished the SVCD version of spidey 2.. i must say, sequels usually suck poopoo, but.. this one is a marked improvement.. the ending was somewhat predictable, considering i was a spidey fan as a young'un , told my wife "if it follows true, the kid will be the green goblin before its over...."

guess what

definitely a must see for anyone into super hero movies

Man, I was pissed when they showed that in the trailer ... don't talk about one of the most bad ass parts of the movie for the people who haven't seen it. :

What about X2??? or Blade 2?? Batman Returns, Star Wars 2 and 3. Don't even try to say sequels suck, especially comic book sequels (mostly recent ones).

On another note, I just watched the Butterfly Effect, flat out predictable, it was ... good, I suppose. I didn't bother watching the theatrical version with its happy ending BS.

[SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN 2, highlight for ... words]

I've been talking with friends on how they should play out the next Spider-Man movie, goddammit, they introduced THREE potential villains!!! (Lizard, Symbiot, and 2nd Green Goblin) That's so awesome. The symbiot could be good if done correctly, and it'd be really hard. The best method would be to NOT explain the symbiot's origin. It'd also be cool if they altered Harry's Green Goblin to make him the Hob Goblin, and just never go down the real hob goblin's alley, because its so ridiculously stupid.

Basically, I think the next movie should consist of an under themed symbiot story (with John Jammason), and a main story of The Hob Goblin/green goblin 2, and Eddie (who they actually mentioned in the first movie ... as a photographer for some reason) could be chasing Conners who has been heard to have relation to the alligators in the sewer rumors.
Throughout the movie they could show court scenes of a serial murderer "Cleadus Cassiday" being put on trial with the persecution being ran by Matt Murdock. ~drool~
During some fight between Jammason and peter (he's pretty pissed for him taking MJ) Eddie, who is trying to get his job back at the Bugal tries to get a picture of Peter, since he has suspicion he's spider-man, gets covered with the symbiot, becomes a mild bad guy...

Mix in the movie ending with Eddie hunting down peter while he's fighting Harry, and somehow have harry save peter from Eddie, getting killed in the process ... something more thought out, but that should be the gist of it ... and that would kick so much ass.
Then they could do Lizard, and Not even touch carnage, even though he's amazingly awesome, it would be impossible to do right ... or with anything below an R rating (properly, mind you)

As for the second movie:

The only part that I had a problem with (even though its hilarious) is that Robbie from the Daily Bugle knows Peter is Spider-Man: "I heard SPIDER-MAN was there, PETER"

I wonder if Stan Lee's cameo in SM2 was suppose to be Gwen Stacie's father ... that'd be such an awesome little detail

I wonder who Stan will save in Spider-Man 3


Sorry, that looks like a lot of babbling, but, that would be amazing to see, thought out of course.
But I believe Raimi said he'd only do one more film to "bring the story to a close", So I'm not sure what they'll be doing, exactly.

But, Spider-Man 2 is defiantly an awesome movie ... I'm seeing it again next Sunday, my mom wants to see it and i have no problem seeing it again [addsig]

have i mentioned, that snarkpit has a whole plethora of opinions? its what makes it worth coming back to each day..

i can honestly say this.. ben stiller made at least one movie worth watching "Meet the parents"

his supporting cast were the real reasons, but at least he was in one..

I don't like Carrey and I really didn't like the Cable Guy. So at least that's something Carrey-related that me and Orph can agree on. And to hopefully remove at least some of the stick I just poked into you, it's not really that I think Ben Stiller himself is hilarious, it's just the way he delivers his lines that I enjoy.

And Kage, I read on one site that said the UK release was in June. Probably a messed up site but nonetheless strange.
