Personally, i like the oldies. Today's films all follow a certain pattern, especially american films - tragic hero, evil bad-guy that stole something/keeps someone hostage, sexy bimbo (that the hero will inevitably make sex with >>>), a sex scene, a battle, the final battle, the hero's reward. I've seen countless movies following this pattern.

Kelly's Heroes, starring Clint Eastwood. 1976 (i think). One of the best war-comedies ever made.

I saw Team America recently. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly funny either. Maybe if i was 14 again hearing puppets call each other dicks and assholes would be humorous...

I loved the first half of Fear and Loathing, but I just found the second part really disturbing, kinda like From Dusk Till Dawn. The first half was disturbingly brutal, but the second half was great!

Anyone who's ever made a map or a 3D virtual environment would appreciate the rendering details of "The Incredibles". I went to the Pixar site, and it's amazing that even with their supercomputer occupying the entire floor space, it still takes them six hours on the average to render a single frame.

But looking at the final result in the movie, it's no wonder that much processing power is necessary to generate these scenes. Pay special attention to the character's hair. Each strand is visible, and even the texture (i.e. how much natural oil it has, whether it was freshly shampooed) is illustrated nicely. I was just gasping non-stop when I was mesmerized by the details.

Half-Life 2's graphics pales in comparison to the beauty of this movie.

Kudos to Pixar.

P.S. A bonus to watching the movie was the trailer for Star Wars Episode III. I saw it on big screen for the first time while watching "The Incredibles".

Ah, pure goodness.

The worst thing about Phantom Menace, besides the fact the technology looks more advanced than in the original trilogy, is the acting. Most of the main actors are like cardboard cut outs, just reading their lines because thats what they've been paid to do. And these were supposed to be "good" actors!?

And if that kid playing Anakin attempted to sound excited any more times I would have killed myself.
