I thought it was OK - but seriously lacking in a plot. It just felt like one action sequence after another, much like Resident Evil 2 did...but then I guess that's what you get when you base a film on a computer game.

Best bit of AVP was Lance Henrikssen - he always shines, no matter how crappy the role.

AVP was rubbish in my eyes. My expectations were low enough as it is (anything with Paul Anderson at the helm is destined to be rubbish), but it STILL couldn't reach them. No sense of pace or atmosphere, ridiculous script and acting, and a "matrix shot" of a facehugger jumping out of an egg. It sucked donkey balls. The only plus side was that the special effects were impressive, but they don't make a crap movie good.

Just watched The Shining, the sound is great and really makes an atmosphere and creates great tension, although there wasn't that many killings it's still a good movie.

Orph, did you even read what I said?

I didn't assume you compared those movies together. So maybe "text failed me again" or you just didn't read all of what I said, like usual.

Doc, AvP was exactly what it should have been ... Aliens fighting Predators. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm just wondering what's cut out, since there was an original cut (severely longer) that was cut to make it PG-13. Supposedly there's an entire subplot gone (one of which explains the damn gestation period). I can understand why people don't like Paul W Anderson movies, he isn't anything great, but he just has a knack for making fun stuff to watch. Although, I think it's not warranted to compare Hero to Resident Evil Apocalypse :

By the way, not on this subject or directed at anyone, Lep is absolutely correct. Your personal opinion of something does not determine whether it is good or not. I can name many movies that are "good", but I hate. Would I suggest them? No, because I hate them, but I wouldn't say, "They suck" or something as such. [addsig]

Hmm, Stephen King stuff. My mom and I have begun watching the Kingdom Hospital series. Somewhat freaky, with a good sense of humor.

I find that the humour aspect of Stephen King adaptations is usually what stops them short of being really good. I didn't watch Kingdom Hospital past the second episode due to this - which was a shame as the trailers etc. for it sold the show well. [addsig]

word!

i have yet, to see this guy flub a part.

/me has always wondered why he only gets supportive roles. he is more than capable of carrying any movie on his own.

Over the last coupple of days I have been bussy watching a few films I just brought Bowling for Columbine, Way of the Gun and Requiem for a Dream from HMV for ?20 only cos they got 3 dvd's for ?20 on at the min and I got The Hunted for ?5.99 second hand from Gamestation.

I loved all of them I had many a hour enjoying them over the last 3 days. Requiem for a Dream wasnt what I was expecting and i found it a bit boring in a few places but I really enjoyed it. Same with Way of the Gun I was expecting it to be a bit funnyer than it was but I also expected that out of The Usual Suspects which was wrote by the same person but it was a bloody enjoyable film.

I don't quite know what I was expecting from The Hunted but it wasn't what I thourght it would be for some reason. I think I was expecting more of Benicio Del Toro in the forest killing people But really enjoyable and I think I may watch it again tonight if there ain't much else on.

I saw Shaun of the Dead a couple of days ago and I didnt think it was that funny I was quite disapointed in that cos I had heard that it was really funny and I didnt really laugh at it much.

Anyway Im now off to watch Peter kay Live at the Bolton Albert Halls
[EDIT]
Scratch that last bit The Rocks on [addsig]

nope, not after the first couple of sentences. the rest made the sound of Charley Browns school teacher on the "Peanuts".

you, are one of the most informed people i know, but hardly an authority. as such you do not have any right to say the word "wrong". at least not with my continued participation in the conversation.

you will note, i frequently disagree with people here, but you will never see me type the words "you're wrong". that leaves absolutely no room for advancement, because it effectively ends the conversation in favor of the person dictating "terms"

as to my knowledge of comic book lore, it may shock you to know i have read one or two..... thousand.

anywho's.. if you want to educate me in any topic, you will not catch my attention with the words "you're wrong".

don't hand me, "thats just how i talk" bulls**t, you are smart enough to know you crossed a line with something as final as "wrong"

anywho's, as i said, i was bragging about my new system, not the movie.

... I highlighted what I was referring to in red. Here, I'll do it again:

? quote:
it was on par with at least 90% of all the other movies that attempted to capture a comic book persona.

And, you are wrong, sorry, you stated an untrue fact, simply from looking at production value. It isn't "how I talk", nor have I ever said that to anyone as an excuse.

I don't understand how you can't see what you said wasn't in the fashion of an opinion, but a fact. Because, that one line from you IS bulls**t.

That is pretty much the only comments I was referring too, but you wouldn't have noticed that ... ever. [addsig]

have i told you, what lovely eyes you have?

ahem, oh, what were you saying?

the fact that i may be 100% wrong, has no baring on this topic at all crono. but to paraphrase your print. "you would never notice that, ever"

Well, 'The Bourne Supremacy' was basically a rehash of the first one - and i'm still no wiser as to what the hell was going on! Best bit was the fight with the rolled up magazine.

And Orph, did you ever catch the series 'Millenium'? Lance Henrikssen played the lead in that. It's a shame it got axed after only 3 seasons.

No!.. is it worth a torrent search adam?

never even heard of it really.

It got "axed" because the show no longer had a purpose being the year 2000 and all. [addsig]

It's definitely worth a torrent search And Crono, I doubt it got axed for that reason as if you watched it (and i'm not saying you didn't, just to be clear), passing the year 2000 had every bit of relevance. The series wasn't about the world ending, but how the 'millenium' affected peoples behaviour - before or after bears no relevance. [addsig]
