Saw this the other week along with cannibal ferox, this one is better (in term's of directing etc) I felt. Sick movie, shame the animals were actually real.

Saw Sin City the other night, one of the best movies I have seen in ages. Great acting, great cast, great story and great cinematic effects. Extremely violent, but it wouldn't be as good without it. Best movie I've seen that was filmed entirely in front of a green screen. Five stars, highly recommended.

Man I really loved that scene in the beach where they first discover the paradise and the moby song is playing... damn that'll send shivers down your spine.

Wedding Crashers was really funny. Go see it with a bunch of friends.

Did you watch "Hide and Seek"? Just unnaturally great. About 5 Minutes before the ending I thought "Jehay crap. I don't like endings where you know every little bit what happened". But just the end has its little twist within. So the end is somewhat unclear. And in a very nice way it is. It's something between horror and thriller. Very well done.

Yeah, CSI is about the only thing on my tube from 6-8 P.M. Spike TV rocks.

I'm hooked on Battlestar Galactica - it makes both Stargates look like absolute crap.

Also saw Wedding Crashers. Which was kind of average; basically "Meet the Parents"-ish in both style and plot. Not bad but not great.

Haven't seen it yet; Germany got left behind....
But I think Christian Bale makes a Batman, close to Michael Keaton. Kilmer and Clooney... just didn't do it.

So I would love to see a remake of "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". These two films just went away from the darkish batman style movie. Way to Colourful and loud. Didn't read the comics but I've been told that Forever and Robin are more like comics. /Shrugs.
I don't like them anyways. "Batman" and "Batman Returns" are the good ones. Including the score.
Did you recognise any Batman-Theme in "Batman Begins"? I listened to the score once, but I was a little disappointed.

I just got off the phone with my mom. She informed me that they are currently filming Pirates of the Caribbean 2. She is a Depp fan so I guess it figures she'd know before I.

Just watched Hotel Rwanda. It's one of the best movies I've seen, and displays human emotion and suffering very deeply. I recommend you see it.

TAKE THAT BACK!

<img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Seriously though, Battlestar is pretty good, we've only had the first season here in Australia so far. The space combat annoys the hell out of me though, its so quiet. Sure there's no sound in space, but if they wanted to be realistic the sequences would be completely silent. Also the ships and weaponry are about the most useless hunks of junk ever. However designed them must be on crack.

I still find Stargate more enjoyable though. Of course if you were to compare the first season of SG-1 with Battlestar, Stargate would win. The new Atlantis series isn't as bad as I thought it might be, I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. Can't beat SG-1 though, which finished just before it had completely 'jumped the shark', which is a good thing.

I watch Rescue Me when I'm not working Tuesday night. I generally can't get into dramas, especially on television, but I find the show often quite compelling. There's some dark humor, the occasional action scene and an incredible commitment to just treat everything as realistically as possible - flaws and all. Plus, I appreciate FX's borderwalking when it comes to controversial content, at least for basic cable TV.

Re: Batman Begins. No they are not going to remake the other Batman movies. There will be more, but probably in the same style of Batman Begins - i.e. through the originals out the window and start from scratch. Let's be realistic here, movies like Batman and Robin are completely unsalvagable.

Movies I've seen recently:

I, Robot - Don't bother watching this. Your standard futuristic popcorn action movie with the most gratiously nauseating camera movement I've ever seen. The phrase "roller coaster ride of a movie" is supposed to be metaphorical.

Fantastic Four - They took what is arguably Marvel's cheesiest comic book and made what is inarguably Marvel's cheesiest movie. I thought they showed adroitness with regard to the use of special effects, but the script is wretched, the plot holier than the Shroud of Turin, and Dr. Doom... just no. Dr. Doom worked on about zero levels. Not only was the actor about as good as a damp tablecloth, but there was no ultimate goal for this character other than to destroy the Fantastic Four. At the end of the movie, all the FF had truly accomplished was saving their own asses. I don't think a single innocent bystander was ever threatened by this disappointment of a nemesis.

The Island - Let me preface this by saying I have no love for Michael Bay. That said, I thought all in all this was a very good movie. Not a classic, and a few overly stupid action sequences (the falling "R" in particular), but most of the chases were very well shot, there was a substantial, engaging plot and the cast pulled out all the stops. Ewan MacGregor gets about five accolades for terrific job with his double role. There were a few wincing product placements: the Michelob Light, X-Box, Aquafina - the bottled water of choice for morally reprehensible totalitarian regimes. A few terrific actors seemed out of the movie a bit too quickly, but I left the theater fully impressed from what I thought would be a complete waste of my money. Oh, and Scarlett Johannson is hot.

I thought the battle scenes in Battlestar were pretty good. The way the fighters move is probably the most realistic I've seen. The design of the human fighters is also fairly close to what we might have up there in 100-150 years (if not, its a pretty good guess).
