Watched 3 movies yesterday that I hadn't seen before: Schindler's List, Dr. Strangelove, and Stealth.

Guess which one I won't be buying on DVD.

Cause you prefer VHS?

Of the three, Schindlers list is the best, so I am thinking Strangelove?

Haven't seen Stealth yet.

I suggest you watch Dr. Strangelove and rethink your guess. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

Pffft, Stealth looks like generic s**te

It's getting totally slaughtered in the press. A few mates went to watch it regardless and they walked out after an hour. Apparently the plot is basically "lightning strike causes AI plane to go on the rampage" (which would clearly happen in real life, obviously ). Where does Hollywood get this garbage from?!?

It really is painful to watch. It's one of those movies that tries to sound more intelligent than it really is, when all it does is trip up and slap itself in the face repeatedly. Remember how The Core defied basic scientific principles? This one just pisses all over them in the name of fast planes blowing s**t up ( in a totally unspectacular fashion of course).

Its a shame that Jamie Foxx is in it, after building up a pretty good reputation with both Collateral and Ray.

He made it before he ever heard of Ray. And everything I've heard about Stealth is that it's a movie to go watch explosions in. And that was from the Actors.

I suggest you watch Dr. Strangelove and rethink your guess.

Then I am assuming you were referring to Stealth. Regardless, I cannot think of many movies that rival Schindler's list. I have never seen Strangelove, but I doubt seriously its in the same league.

it would be unfair to compare them in the first place, being completely different movies. They're both fantastic movies in their own way; Strangelove because it's funny as hell, Schindler's List because it made me cry <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">

Since you seen them both, I concede to your better knowledge of the two. Fair enough?

Dr. Strangelove or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb is a serious candidate for best thing ever committed to film, ever.

Watched both "xXx" movies tonight. One word can sum them both up. "BLEH"

Talking about xXx - I've never seen the State of the union; but I liked Pitch Black better, anyways. But not the Chronicles. Just the idea to entrust your life to the hands of a-hell-of-a-killer is a nice idea.

BTW: The ring isn't that bad, is is?

The original ring is terrible, it's not scary one bit. All it's got is plot and bad actors. The Remake is far better imo.

I like the remake of The Ring ... like as a movie. F**k the "is it scary" crap: it's well made.

I doubt the sequel is worth the dog s**t it's printed on though. Also, Ringu 0-2453 are terrible.

Nakata: "Hey, Hiroshi, what do you think we can do to fill in all these plot holes we made by not following the book?"
Takahashi: "Hmm ... OH! I got it! Let's make the father psychic for some reason."
Nakata: "I love it! That's so original. Too bad we didn't have money to make people look dead"
Takahashi: "Yeah, that would have been sweet if we did"
Nakata: "Yeah"

The making of Ringu went something like that.

You have to be one of the first people that has agreed with me on this. On OCUK nearly everyone I have seen posting about Ringu said "it was soooo scary" and "the best horror film I have ever seen". IMO both of those statements are false.

I laughed more when watching Ringu then I usually do watching comedies. But also, I must say some parts of the movie were quite bizarre, like the clip on that video.

The Ring was cool
Ringu blew
Stealth was cool (with a questionable plot and acting, however, Jessica Beil is hot)

yeah thats the main reason i saw it. the actual core of the movie is a love story though wrapped around in the overused computer-turns-evil crap

I just saw Mean Machine. It's basically the British soccer version of the Longest Yard. It was directed by Guy Ritchie, and has some of the guys from Snatch and Lock Stock etc.

Funny <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

I'm hooked on the new FX "comedy TV" block: "Starved" is kind of a dark comedy about people with eating disorders, and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is about these idiot 20-somethings who have no idea what they're doing. They're both surprisingly good, some people even compare it to Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm. Anyone else watch these or am I just crazy?.. Er, don't answer that.

I wanted to watch Starved, but I never grew enough interest to figure out when it was on and sit down and watch it.

I recently saw Cube Zero. Laughable, yes. But, not too bad of a movie for free. I think the entire Cube series has some sort of merit, but none of it is worth paying for. It's one of those things that if you thought the entire series was a Sci-Fi movie series, you'd be like, "wow, that was really good". But then again, I think the first Cube movie was actually good. Just a little overrated.

The cool thing about this movie are the answers! You get a clear picture of how these people can be in this thing and everyone behind it. Really the only bad part of the movie is Michael Riley. He's been in good movies before (Amistad), but, his performance in the movie just made it feel like a crap fest. Seriously, the movie was actually GOOD before his character entered. He has nothing but catch phrases and cliche character traits. Bleh. Movie was good besides him. Also, the idea of being trapped in a Cube made up of cubes and you don't know which ones have traps and your life is on the line ... that's an awesome idea. Make a pretty cool game if done properly, not an FPS though. That'd be retarded. However, Deep Rising would make an amazing FPS. It'd be nothing but action, squids, gore, Treat Williams AND Famke Janssen. What else could you want?!
