Yes, all the gore is gone. There's an insane amount too. AND it doesn't look cheesy.

Excellent. I may have to pick this one up on DVD, then <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif"> I thought a lot of the scenes that looked like they should have been more violent seemed... odd.

Blur studios did at least some of the effects work, which might explain its awesomeness (they did the digestion scene, which you can see bits of on their site).

The United States of Leiland - A highschooler murders a retarded schoolmate for seemingly no reason...it is a really good movie with Don Cheadle and Kevin Spacey.

Million Dollar Baby - (Just read what mazemaster said...he was spot on)

I also just want to re-bring up some of the movies he listed that are truly awesome:

Snatch
Fight Club
The Pianist
The Usual suspects
Memento
Big Fish
Dogma
Gattaca

All of those movies will rock your face off.

The Cell - one of J-Lo's decent movie performances. Lots of screwed up imagery everywhere; it's kind of disgusting yet beautiful at the same time. I almost kind of want to watch it again.

Some of my favorite movies are...

LOTR (all 3)
The Transporter
Hotel Rwanda
Black Hawk Down
Saving Private Ryan
Austin Powers 2 & 3
Porkies
James Bond (some of the older ones)
Matrix 1 & 2
Dawn of the Dead 2004

Those are all I can think of right now. I know there's a lot more than that.

Watched 5 movies in 2 nights.

Four Brothers: Entertaining and actually pretty funny, although not a movie you have to see in theaters so if you're just kind of curious about watching it, wait to rent it.

Mission Impossible: So much better than the second one. Worth seeing if you haven't.

Hostage: This movie was entertaining until the end. The ending was terrible. The ex-disney actor who plays the maniac "Mars" in the movie is hilarious.

Hustle and Flow: Decent movie. Only watch it if you like rap and hip hop.

A Few Good Men: I love Jack Nicholson in this movie. Overall really good.

Snatch: Great movie. Very funny. Far superior to Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. This movie is worth watching for the scenes with the fast-talking pykies alone (played by Brad Pitt).
There fixed it because they f**king hate pykies

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: I like "headf**k" movies where theres always a bit of mystery about whats going on, and I also like Jim Carey as an actor. Thus it was quite a surprise that I found Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind to be overrated. Its not a particularly bad movie, but I didn't like it that much.

Ong-Bak: Martial arts movie featuring a relatively unknown guy (Tony Jaa). The fight scenes are as good as the best in Bruce Lee movies, and the acrobatics and chase scenes are as good as the best in Jackie Chan Movies. The fighting style is also very cool and completely different from the usual martial arts (lots of elbows and knees are used). The best martial arts movie I have seen in a long time.

Ah someone else that has seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind bloody good movie I must watch that again. Whenever I tell my mates to watch it they just look at me weard and then say ok but they never do watch it.

and someone else that has seen Ong-Bak. I was really dissapointed when it was finaly released over here cos It was only in selected cinemas and the closet one was about a hour away and I had no way of getting there.

I love the fight scenes in it and when there bombing around the streets in those trike taxi thingys.

The only film I have seen recently is Garden State it was writen, directed and stars Zach Braff (that bloke that plays J.D in Scrubs) it also has Natalie Portman in it as a compulsive lier. One part of the film I liked was when they go to Sams (Natalie Portman) house and here mum tells her that one of the hamsters is dead cos she forgot to take the wheel out. I also like the bit where they go to his mates house and get stoned and he wakes up in the morning whith balls writen on his head then he has to go to the doctors, takes his shirt off and you see that his mates wrote and drew all over his chest. The ending was a bit predictable where it was a happy feel good one.

Apparently, the US DVD for Ong-Bak is re-edited by Luc Besson (Leon, Fifth Element) Which would make it much more then a "stunts" movie.

"Eternal Sunshine" was excellent. Charlie Kaufman is a great writer. Oh how I hope the "Upcoming Charlie Kaufman Spike Jones Horror Movie Project" is The 3 (I still think Adaptation is Kaufman's best movie, though). Any movie, if hyped, will almost never live up to your expectations. I think, the only movie I ever saw that was hyped up to me by friends which lived up was Fight Club ... but then again, they didn't tell me what happened and they didn't say anything past, "you just need to see it" over and over again.

I personally thought Garden State was overrated ... and I hate Zach Braff ... just as an actor mostly.

I'm going to get around to watching Downfall and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance one of these days, I'll get to putting it up here. Also, See Oldboy if you get the chance. It's a great movie. I'm not going to hype it because then you'll expect too much, but it's well written, acted, and directed. Chan-Wook Park is slowly becoming one of my favorite film makers (overall).

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

You say that like there is something wrong with just "stunts" movies.

Perhaps you're misunderstanding the situation. Have you seen the movie? It has an actual plot ... and I'm not talking "Pumping Iron" type of plot. It's a good thing that it's being re-edited, especially by someone like Luc Besson. It can only get better and more coherent.

On that note: there needs to be more REAL stunts done with people's legs on fire.

[Addition]
Apparently, it was already re-edited before it hit my shores. Hm.

I suppose, if you call "bad guys stole ancient artifact, villager goes to big city to get it back" a plot. I mean, some other interesting things happen in-between, but plot is not the reason to watch the movie... the stunts are.

[edit] I definitely agree about the legs-on-fire thing though (-:

Oh yeah, another great movie recently watched - The Blues Brothers. Awesome...

Anyone else a big fan of The Blues Brothers? And I am referring to the origional movie, not the awful remake.

Wasn't Blues Brothers 2K a sequel as opposed to a remake? I haven't seen it so couldn't tell you, but it seemed like that to me when I saw trailers. Also looked s**t, so I guess its of little importance <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif"> Blues Brothers itself is absolutely awesome though, and a film that I had almost forgotten about. Gonna have to have a hunt through my videos to find it for a good old return viewing <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

Blues Brohters 2K is a sequel, you're right ReNo. Actually I really enjoyed it. It got the typical Blues Brothers elements like The Blues Mobile (old police car) and all the totally overdone car wrecking and smashing. The plot is like: Let's put the band back together.... Okay. It's very much the same; but everything is different, also. There are a few more Blues Brothers for example.
Well in the end: I enjoyed it. My suggestion: Watch it and see for your self.

Yeh Schindler's list is good I haven't seen that film in years I had to watch it for one of my lessens think it was english (carn't remember how it tied in to english but I can remember my english teacher being there when I was watching it) or could have beeen history.

I've been watching Sugar Rush latly good show especialy cos of Kim.

Just finished watching the Truman Show about half a hour ago not seen it before wanted to for years but when ever I went to rent a film I saw that then something else I realy wated to watch so I never got round to it. But now I have and I can see why people were telling me its a good film cos it is. I Kinda wanted to see him go out into the real world and not have it end when he walks through the door but still a good ending non the less.

and now I'm about to watch King Arthur not seen it in a while. Plus it has Keira Knightly in it with not much on.

As for Lost carnt say as it appeals to me that well but I could end up liking it in in the 2nd series. Like I did with the Sopranos never really liked the first series but I got into it in about the third I think. I've done that with a couple of other tv shows aswell.

Ignoring cheesy lines, they are at least doing a few things to try and address all the prior complaints about it not relating to the game. I mean, people bitched it had nothing in common, but going by it now it seems to have plenty. FPS-o-cam, ultra-comparable sets, and some sort of focus on the actual weapons (always important in an FPS). Whether or not they have gone overboard is another matter.

Anyone else endure 'House of the Dead'? Uwe Boll decided it would be a good idea to splice scenes from the video game into action scenes in the movie. A video game that's at least four years old at that... ugh.

I'm going movie-watching crazy here thanks to my brother's loaded laptop...

Constantine: Pretty decent flick, I always like the heaven/hell battles and this one adds explosions and touches of creepiness so hurray.

Family Guy: hahaha, 'nuff said.

The Evil Dead: I don't really see how this one's supposed to be comically bad... it was probably the bloodiest movie I've ever seen, quite creepy/disturbing, AND it gave me nightmares... I like it.
