Last night, I screened Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. A know, the movies been out a week already, but that was a limited release; it's now everywhere.

The Movie was excellent. It gave you the feel of The Nightmare before christmas while keeping the appeal of a maturer movie. The detail is amazing. The puppets all have human "like" feature, not like nightmare's sphereical skulls.

The music was also great, I tried to find a copy on the Internet, but failed.

The story actually fits well. The dead only walk the earth for hauntings and curses.

Spoiler: [Highlight area with mouse]
The corpse bride, named Emily, was killed waiting for the man she though she loved, They were to be wed underneath a creepy tree in the woods. Her husband to be used her and mortally wounded her. As he left her there to die, she pronounced her vows, hopeing her true love would show up and resue her; thus curseing herself.[end]

More Spoiler: [Highlight area with mouse]
Victor shows up in the woods because he just got thrown out of the church of his own recital because he can't remember his vows. Well he's trying to practice his vows and finnally gets it right and slips the ring on what he thinks is a root. The next that happens is right of one of those haunting movies with Victor running and the corpse bide floatiing along. [end]

I loved this movie, I only wish it were longer than 1:15.
When it comes to puppets, Tim Burton is the master.

You know, I've actually got nothing to say

Watched Vanilla sky again for the second time. The first time I watched it was a little less than 2 years ago.

I loved it both times.

Go see it with at least two friends if you haven't seen it yet.

I watched the Longest Yard two nights ago. What a crappy movie. It was so MTV it'll boggle your mind. The only humour was "haha, he's gay". It was such a bad bad movie. I can't explain it any other way. Plus it had Adam Sandler in it, that just kicked it down a few notches.

saw Revolver on thursday.
i have to say it was an excellent film.
different from Guy Ritchies previous films (Snatch, Lock Stock). it was essentially a gangster film but mixed in some very interesting psychological thriller parts.
im going to have to see it again, i didnt quite get it the first time
i would recommend to anyone, go see it!

I saw the Longest Yard Yesterday. It's okay... It seemed like one big advertisement campaign. Mainly for McDonalds. Burt reynolds is cool though.

I also recently saw Hugh's mom. Whoowee!

I watched it again while I was in Italy, when all the dialogues were dubbed in Italian. It's quite interesting watching Tom and Penelope conversing in Italian.

I saw "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the flight back from Italy. It's a nice action flick, with lots of it (especially the finale) resembling a good FPS game. It almost inspired me to create a map based on the final fight of the movie. I don't plan to start because I think there will simply be too many prop_physics for the engine to handle.

I watched Soviet film "The Man with the Movie Camera" (1929) recently, as well as the French movie "The Rules of the Game" (1939).

I sort of understand how before its time the Soviet film was, but I just couldn't stay awake. The French movie I very much enjoyed. Some very vibrant characters and some great camerawork / direction.

If you like older movies, I'd recommend it.

I had to watch "The Rules of the Game" for a film class about a year ago.
What a bunch of terrible people <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> (which was the point)

The character Octave, played by Jean Renoir, 1/2 wrote and directed the film.

Flakey French society.

I just saw Top Gun. Is it just me, or is this movie gay (as in aimed at the minoritary homosexual public)? Or was it just ye olde perverted mind at work?

I also saw Robin Hood: Men In Tights; Mel Brooks is one of my all time faves!

Maddox would agree with your Top Gun interpretation.

That or you read too much maddox, since he's explicitly addressed Top Gun's 'homosexual' factor.

Didn't notice the new page with the same reference

Top Gun's definitely gay (mmm, topless men playing beach volleyball...), RH: MIN I didn't find funny at all, Longest Yard looked alright from the trailer I saw on Conan, but apparently you guys don't like Sandler so there ya go.

Just watched Serenity. Awesome movie.

It started out kinda slow, but after the first 10 minutes it picks up. I think the movie did a great job of summing up the series. The part I like the best was when there was a huge ship battle between the allience and reapers and firefly was sipping through them all. If it was Imax, I would have wet myself <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">.

I'm not all to good at discribing stuff...
