Speaking of Guy Pearce:
- Memento
- Ravenous
- The Time Machine
All very good Guy Pearce films. He's underrated, ladies and gents.

Damn this thread loads so slow. ![]()
Anyway, the grandma on the right hand side of the bed in the new Charley and the chocolate factory is my new hero. She is the embodiment of my time here at Snarkpit.

You mean she whines about screenshot size and gets mad all the time?

Why sure, aren't we just the joker. Missouri little piece of $%!+
No, I take it you have not seen it yet? She is in her own little world and no one else in the room seems to understand a word she says. " SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">
Seriously though, the Gene Wilder version seems a trifle better so far but then again, I am a big Wilder fan.

Thanks to the time it took for this thread to load, I had time to finish the last 2 loads of clothes and cook supper. ![]()
On a serious note, anyone watch Christmas with the Kranks?
It gives a whole new meaning to ungrateful busybodies. I know its supposed to be just a movie but its realism is scary as hell.
If you get a chance, watch something else first.

At the very least a platter with the Snark dinner upon it. " SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">
I am currently watching "Kingdom of Heaven"
Liam Neeson has such a short part. " SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">
It is nice to see that Professor Lupin found a job after Hogwarts though. " SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

The family watched a few movies this week.
Scores are subjective since I based them on who like it. I hate Will Ferrel and would score all his movies 0/10 so I posted the score of my family member who like his show.
Yes this is a lot of movies but, we rented them for 5 days. We didn't actually watch them all at once. " SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

First I want to clarify that I have no religious beliefs to alter my view of the movie. Not having one might effect my view but having one other than the movies base would have seriously done damage I think.
I did not chose my online handle haphazardly. I favor movies that portray the underdog in a positive way.
The movie took a average, yet intelligent commoner and placed him in a position to make a difference in his small piece of the worlds events. His battle strategies and his charisma at getting almost everyone to die for him was well incorporated into the film. The character portrayed in the lead had such an open minded viewpoint that he actually got the respect of his future opponents before the conflict ever began. The act of simply giving a horse to someone he thought of as just another human being was one such an example.
The historical value, as previously mentioned is another nugget of gold in respect to encouraging one to watch the film.
I would rate this movie just short of the greats like "The Ten Commandments" and "Ben Hur" in its scope. The battle scenes alone were such as to move one to tears when you take into account the magnitude of the death tolls rendered. We are talking about a time period of or around the crusades. The worlds population was sparse at the time yet the battles involved 200,000 on one side and about 40,000 or so on the other. I am unsure about the actual numbers but when you think of how underpopulated the world was then its amazing to consider numbers of that scope.
If I were you, I'd watch it simply to see what all the hub bub is about. Then you can judge for yourself.
