Just saw Dodgeball. It was a very fun and funny experience, but I dont know how much of that was the movie and how much was me hanging out with my friends and having a generally good time.

Edit - Oh yeah, and it would have been the funniest thing ever if when Willian Shatner was talking to the kid whose actor also played the nerdy kid in galaxy quest, the kid said "yes captain" or something equivalent. It would have been totally out of context and yet totally funny. As it was a bunch of famous people had cameos, but they didn't make fun of them like they could have. [addsig]

I've got nothing big against Jim Carrey, he's done some stuff I really enjoyed (The Truman Show, Dumb and Dumber, first Ace Ventura). He's also done some really stupid stuff. Me, Myself and Irene left me bewildered... it was just half-ass gross-out gags the whole way through. Didn't do anything for me.

On the other hand, I have seen tons of great movies with Ben Stiller. Sure, like Owen Wilson, he makes nice for the movie studios in such paint-by-numbers pictures like Along Came Polly, but then turn around and there's The Royal Tannenbaums or Zoolander or Mystery Men - something really unique comedically. "What is this? A center for ants? How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read if they can't even fit inside the building? The centre has to be at least... three times bigger than this!" Terrific. I don't know how you could not like the guy.

Just finished watching Kill Bill Vol. 2 -- it was good, but could have been better if Kill Bill was one movie. It was just too long, it felt slightly bloated. But it was damned good. [addsig]

I watched Troy and The Matrix Revolutions last night. I thought Troy was good, but could have been a lot better whilst staying within the original story. The matrix was supprisingly good. I heard loads of people say how bad it is, but it was far better than reloaded, and overall I thought it was a pretty good film - better than Troy IMO.

I've been watching quite a few DVD's with friends, and I recently came upon these two that I had almost forgotten about. If you can find them, I would suggest watching them.

How To Kill Your Neighbors Dog is an awesome movie- I think it's pretty amusing, but it's actually got a bit of heart to it too.

Suicide Kings is a little older, but it's a great dark comedy starring Jay Mohr, Dennis Leary, and features Christopher Walken duct-taped to a chair for the majority of the film. The story-line is a bit weird, and has a fair bit of double-crossing going in it (some predictable, some not so much), but just watching these idiots trying to pull off a kidnapping is just hilarious. I just watched Kill Bill, and then Kill Bill 2. If a few scenes or lines were cut, it could have been an amazing 3-hour movie. Instead it ends up being two very good movies at 3 hours and a half. [addsig]

I agree that Kill bill is too long. A number of people have said that it should have just been one movie. Oh well.

Warning: Am about to recomend something that you guys are going to revolt in disgust over

A couple weeks ago, I watched 2 discs of "Neon Genesis Evangelion". By Orph's standards, I'd say 4 thumbs up. For anyone who prefers a slightly more serious tone to anime, yet doesn't want to watch something so serious that they don't even talk ((I'm not jokingg!!!)) then Evangelion is a good one. The show doesn't really pick up until Ep 5 though, so bare with it.

The only anime I've ever really gotten into is Hellsing. Actually, I hated anime, until I saw what great use it was put to in Kill Bill vol 1. Now I have new respect for its use.

I guess you could say that was anime... But I felt that scene was kinda stretching the limits of what anime actually was..

Kinda felt like something out of "Happy Tree Freinds"

Evangelion is too overrated.

I just got back from seeing Fahrenheit 9/11

Usually Moore is a blubbering, biased, spout of semi-fiction. Well it must be a cold day in hell, because this movie is straight-forward and fairly accurate with little, if any, twisting by Moore (unlike Bowling for Columbine).

See it ... there's some stuff about Oregon in it too that I didn't even know.
By the way, some of it is a bit squeamish. With very real and graphic footage from Iraq.

Personally, I feel much different when seeing and actual person killed as opposed to fake characters.

[Note]
Hellsing blows.
If you liked Kill Bill's anime (newbie) you'll probably like 'Blood: the last vampire'.

Try some manly anime and none of that 'semi-i-wish-i-could-watch-anime' anime

Try a heavy dose of 'Lain' and 'Boogiepop Phantom' ... they must be viewed in one night, it'd take about 6 hours, but if you don't, you'll get confused, especially with BP.
