How can anyone say that a self-respecting person of any nationality would boot Bobby De Niro in the nuts? Not unless he starts killing babies, and even then I'd think twice.

I-Robot, was nothing more than an extended Commercial. It had its good points but over all I was disapointed.

The Village, Talk about CRAP.. I think I found a movie to put above Blair Witch in crappyness.

I got the Band Of Brothers on DVD and watched those.. now theres a Good Movie ( or Mini-Series ).

From the scenes I saw online (that they released), even the action looked lame. [addsig]

You're a godamn liar and you know it.
That or your expectations were so low ... that it had what I'd like to call 'The Terminator 3 Effect'.

Its when your expectations for a movie are so incredibly low that dog s**t could be better. In that situation, the movie fools you into thinking it is good ... but you are uneffected by its powers the second time around. See it again and tell me its good ... then I'll just call you crazy [addsig]

Heh, crono

edit: i loved it so much i forgot the title.

No Man's Land

BBC4 on BBC1 showed this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283509/ a couple o' weeks ago, i watched it on the basis of the TV announcers comments

A non combat war story, set in a non american/WWII environment - different already! follows the story of 2 bosnian soldiers who are stuck in no mans land in a small trench, with a serbian soldier. 1 of the bosnians is unable to move (he's lying injured on a mine), and neither of the other 2 soldiers are able to gain control of the situation - so, they have to tolerate each others companies.

tempers flare, and the futility of war is exposed - dark humour also pops up now and again ("why should i do what you say?" "because im holding a gun and youre not!"). stuck in this situation, the UN peacekeeping force intervenes, and is held back by bureacracy.

a deep, and different look at war, humanity and the vulture like nature of media and its need to swarm around suffering. also a harsh criticism of how the international community fails to respond to desperate situations because of political jockeying and the bad old red tape.

one more thing - amelie fans? this beat Amelie to best foreign language film at the 2002 Oscars, and deservedly so. a must see, in my humble opinion.

Amelie was quite a cool film actually, not the sort of film I'd have expected to enjoy but I did I was flicking through channels the other day and saw a bit of that film Gwil, but didn't watch much. I also watched some of another foreign film, shown the day before, about a social experiment of putting normal people into a prison situation, with half of them being guards and half inmates (or thats what I gathered). While again, I didn't watch too much of it, it certainly came across as an interesting and different film, I might try and dig it up sometime. [addsig]

thats Das Experiment by the sounds of the description ReNo, it was based on some trials that took place in the U.S. - its german with subtitles.

quite depraved yet a good film still - a nice look at how power corrupts and how humans are easily led/supressed by each other.. extremely violent and disturbing at the same time.

Last night my mates showed up with a DVD called "Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town", and it really was as bad as the title suggests. Some hilariously crap bits earn it a score of 2/10, though it was a good film to tear apart with some friends for a laugh [addsig]

's**tty Horror' is definitely a genre all it's own, completely seperate from regular Horror movies. I love most older, moslty unknown, horror flicks. They're just so much damn fun to watch just because they're so bad. [addsig]
