I have 2 middle names as well ... I'm sure most individuals couldn't pronounce 3/4ths of my name: Adam Mohamed Salam Naser

They have signifigance going from right to left: great grandfather, grandfather, father, yours truely.

Arab names are a little weird since they translate into weird things like "salam" means peace, non-slag of course. And yes, everything in my name is spelt correctly. People try to tell me how to spell my name a lot, it's pretty damn annoying, and chances are you'll mispronounce my last name because you will probably think it's spelt wrong [addsig]

My friend's fiance's last name is Jaureguizar ... and it's pronounced exactly how its spelt and spelt how it's pronounced. The real reason I know how to spel it is that I always call him Mr. Jaureguizar ... it'd be pretty funny if you knew him, one sound ~wchish~

Also, just a little note, when you spell stuff out in text you use hyphens: R-I-C-K-E-N-B-A-C-K-E-R ... use it in your story or something ... ~runs~ [addsig]

Yep.

Dude, Orph, just watch a few episodes of Noir,
It's a damn good show.

just watched a portion of Noir episode 2

its odd to say the least, a japanese show, about an english country, spoken in japanese, with english subtitles.. the mix, didn't come together well IMO. in all fairness, listening to it in japanese was my only real complaint, i suppose it could be an ok show, assuming all the people who lived in it spoke english

I bought the first 2 DVDs of Noir as I was really taken by the cover art, I found it really stylish. Really thats what I like most about the whole thing, the look is great in my opinion. Problem with it is the lack of content to make up the time, so they shove in the same bloody flashback about 2 or 3 times an episode, which gets extremely annoying if you are watching episodes one after another. Sometime I will probably pick up the rest of the series, but at ?20 a DVD, its really hard to justify buying anime really. The main reason I bought the first two was that there was a buy one get one free offer on at the time. [addsig]

Orph, it takes place in france, if I'm not mistaken.

Secondly, it's a show that was aired in Japan, what else would you expect it to be in?? That's like saying shows/movies here are worse because they have people speaking english in other parts of the world, which they do all the time. Also, if you want to hear it in English your only option is to buy the dvd and put on the english track ... even though they're in France. It's a pretty good show actually, I think to fully accept the story telling it has you have to watch the entire series, all the flash backs have meaning in other words. I have yet to finish the whole thing, but I'm getting there.

And orph, if you find Japanese language with english subtitles annoying or something like that, just stop now and never think or speak of anime ever again, simply because It's all in Japanese, unless it's poorly dubbed in english, which mostlikely means it will be shown on TV at some point, or there's a popular DVD coming out, but I somehow doubt you'd buy a dvd [addsig]

Ghost in the shell still is my favorite anime-movie. I don't know much about anime, but that movie's great. Same goes for the Animatrix-series.

No offense, but if Ghost in the Shell and the Animatrix are your favorite anime movies, then it's really obvious that you haven't watched much.

Ghost in the Shell is damn borring in most of the movie. Seriously, watch another good anime movie and then compare. I'm not saying GIS is bad, but most of the dialog is monotonus.

Vampire Hunter D 2 is a good all round anime movie (animation, story, dialog, dubbing!, and of course, action), and (to please Orph, since he thinks English is the main language of Earth , just kidding.) it's in English. [addsig]

I wanna see Ghost in a shell... Seen half of Bubblegum Crisis, all of Neon Genesis Evangelion, all of FLCL and a bit of Trigun. Also seen Laputa, quality film.

FLCL and Neon Genesis are the best, same director too.

exactly what I said ... I know nothing of Anime.

I just watch those mainstream, famous anime-things, but I don't know a thing about anime series or anything ...

i have watched vampire hunter D ,both halves i guess, cause i saw 2 of them.. they were good.

and no, i do not get annoyed with japanese, IF its part of the movie, i watched, and enjoyed tremendously "the last samurai, it was set in japan, so one expected there to be quite a lot of japanese, so the subs were just fine.

watching an animated show, set in an english speaking country (didn't look french at all to me, but hey, what would i know) with total subs was poor IMO.. but there again, i have no real interest in wanting to like it, so, of course it was annoying.

i watched "shogun" massively japanese.. i watched "anne and the king" not japanese, but oriental i think..

the fact that it had subs, was not an issue.. but it sure didn't help.

as i always tell my wife.. "good thing someone likes it" whenever i see her eat, or read something i think is a waste of time

you, can have them, if noir is the best it gets

Noir isn't the best, but it's good. The thing you're forgetting is that the version you downloaded is NOT professionally translated, its a fansub, unless it's a DVD rip, which is hard to find actually.

Secondly, the Effiel Tower is a DEAD give away ... and if you watch more of the show, you'd find out they live in Paris.

It just seems that you 'ignorantly'/unknowingly bash something, then you get interested in it, then you seem to look down upon it after the fact, which is weird. But, if you don't like, that's fine. But, just assuming that one series represents the entire form is rediculous (which you're seeming to do by your comments). That's like someone in another country watching one or two, random, series' from America and basing an opinion on every American show. I think this conversation has happened before, just on a different subject here.

Anyway, whatever. [addsig]

you crack me up crono, no place did i bash, i did however state that i was unimpressed with it.

however, i did also mention that i have seen a few anime shows, and throughly enjoyed them.. so i did not in fact bash an entire genre'

/methinks thou protests to much

if, i have indeed offended, i appologize.
