I think he just means give some visual indication of a theme, be it an edited screen capture, or a quick "from scratch" knock up in photoshop, or whatever. Just something showing what colour everything would be, to show if it looks nice. As for normal or condensed, I would assume show how normal would look and then the condensed version would be easy enough to guess.

I think this site needs more white background/black text. And throw in some blue for that extra 'something'.

Oh god no, Lep would be better trying to use psychic powers to steal people's ideas than figure out what the hell one of those monqui "masterpieces" is trying to convey

I was always glad to see that Black-Yellow screen: it makes you feel like 1337 mapping has come home

The 'classic' theme pretty much works again now, bar a few images :/

Hmmmm.... I think a better title bar would be a "Welcome to the Snarkpit, Please hold while Vash eats your legs"

Hmmm, the good old days
It does still have a few issues but big improvement to the classic theme all all round. The sidebar on the left doesn't look quite right on a lot of pages still - was it black below the links on the old snarkpit site? [addsig]

I suppose most people like more colour... it would be easy to change a couple of things to 'gold' or 'green' without making it look to horrible I guess
Oh and I edited the snark.gif to have transparency but it didn't turn out very well. I hate editing images

Some images in this post have been automatically down-sized, click on them to view the full sized versions:
OK, here's my attempt at a sort of minimalist white background theme. The spacing around the bar that has username and contact methods is a bit big, but I couldn't change that without spending hours trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the html for this place

Yeah ok, but Lep wants a white background theme, and not everybody hates black on white. I suppose you guys both use the blue background with white writing in word then?

I think it looks quite cool, though I'm quite firmly taken by the classic theme now, and I don't think I'll be budged
EDIT: This leaves me with a dilemma - I could change my avatar to the white background variant I made at the same time so it looks right on my theme, but then it would look a bit naff to everyone else...argh the decision making process! [addsig]

Throw a little border around it, and make the BG color a relatively dark grey (or just leave it black.)
