The zip wants empty for me, it had xen_forklift.mdl in it. If you want i could put it on my webspace to download. All you have to do is ask if you want something hosted. [as long as it isnt to big ]

i've had some weird ftp'ing like that - had a few files that looked as tho' they uploaded ok but ended up as zero bytes long

A possible solution for big images hosted outside of SP - if an images bigger than X bytes and its in-line then change it to an external link so users have a choice of viewing it or not.

And popup a message to the poster saying whats been done.

I'm not familiar with php so i dunno if this is even possible or worth doing ?

Er, you can actually make an empty zip file anyway, in XP you just click new ? ZIP file, or just delete all the contents of one...

Unless you, say, cut the contents of a ZIP file out and paste them somewhere, or just happen to notice there's an option to create a new ZIP file along with texts, WADs and other formats when you right click..?!

Just had a thought, instead of simply having page numbers in forums wouldn't it be better if mods/topic starter could 'name' them, i.e. have chapters to a thread too? Be quite useful for longer conversations and map threads (start a new chapter with a new build or with new screens, or have multiple chapters to this thread such as one for bugs and one for suggestions, etc.)

Wow yeah that sounds great! I think letting the poster specifiy new chapters in the mapping thread would be good, but in the general thread, not so good, because the poster could annoy poeple by 'having the last word' in a given chapter, then starting a new one. I know it sounds petty, but in addition to this, half the fun of the general forum is that threads go way off topic - 'chaterising' them would seem to take away from this slightly

I think threads in the editing forum would need to be chaptered by the mods, so when some newbie has asked two questions in the same thread, a mod can come along and make the second question the start of a new chapter within that thread, which could make that question come up seperately when somebody searches the 'answers database' (The same as if the person had started a new thread for their second issue).

Well, chapters could just be left open anyway and not locked, so it wouldn't work like that. I guess it would be just 'threading' a topic but keeping replies linear... *gets to work*

Just noticed the new control panel feature for the maps. Really cool. 'cept when the download counter reaches 3 digits, its placed under the download icon instead of on the side. Just a little point. [addsig]

Did you change the snarkmark formula? I've dropped a few hundred, which isn't an issue, just something I noticed...though it has made me a mere "rabid snark" [addsig]

I did change it slightly, yes, but turns out that it hadn't been adding on any marks for people's comments before so it wasn't just a negative alteration

I have a directory that I can access but not delete.

Also, on the user stats page the highest rated user is Peter Manson with 3 votes of 5. [addsig]

Well that would make him the highest rated user then, wouldn't it Perhaps you would like to suggest where the line should be drawn?
