I didn't even think to suggest it but its a nice thing to have. Another little suggestion, would it be possible to have map screenshots shown when you reply to a map thread? I often find myself flicking between 2 windows, one with the map thread and one with my reply, so I can change screenshot and things. Would be nice to put them on the reply page if possible.

I can't make new lines for some reason. For example, I'll try and make one right here... And has it worked? No It shows as a new line when I'm making the reply, just not once posted. When I edit the post it also shows up fine. Havent a clue whats wrong, never had problems with it before

Yeah, quick reply Why the character limt though? (char counter doesn't work in mozilla) New lines work for me (I think) Another suggestion, could the thread history when you make a new post be in an iframe? I'm not sure how other people feel about this, but to me it seems like a good idea to be able to read the posts you are replying to without scrolling down. Perhaps this could be an option? The standard/condensed buttons at the bottom of the page could go below quickreply to perhaps look neater? Also, how about a drop down box 'jump to forum' at the bottom of each thread page - We used to have this, but it disappeared? I remember complaining about it not working in mozilla If you use ' onchange="this.form.submit()" ', it will work with mozilla. [edit] oh, maybe newlines don't work. doh. [/edit]

ReNo, I got the same problem. You need to use a "p" tag (you know, in html) to start a new paragraph. I have a feeling it's a Mozilla thing.

Never used to have a problem though Kage, wonder whats caused it...guess it must be something to do with adding the quick reply feature.

Line break test.

Line breaks? Hmm... Sorry about that, should work now

Sorry about the counter, but that's what you get for using inferior browsers, etc. etc. etc. etc. blah blah It'll be gone pretty soon anyway and replaced with the proper reply thingummy.

Any reasons against substituting the reply button in pm's for a quick reply type box underneath?

edit: No it's not from laziness, it just might be a little less fiddley. Yes, fiddly.

That was decided against because of possible abuse/misuse. However, if Lep decided to introduce different levels for members he could give selected people the power to mass message. Another option would be to limit it to about 10 or 15 people.

so, we should punish all on a what if...

alrighty then.

we already have block ability.. that would effectively end all abuse after the 1st cases..

except leps fine ability to IP block..

he could also create a work-in-progress name blocking system..

no names with questionable content.. IE puss,c**k,ass, etc, etc

the database would require some effort initially, but in a few months i bet you could get most combinations blocked..

if by chance, someone insists on using a word thats blocked, he could send a message to lep for authorization..

just a thought..

Like it says, I can delete people faster than they can register, so although IP blocking is fun it's more the account-deleting that deters people. Andddd ok about the PM reply gubbins, but that'll have to wait a few weeks, exams :/

its obvious, snarkpit keeps up with "times viewed" on pages..
how do we, as members see how many times things been viewed, IE tutorials, and reviews?

i am kinda curious, which tuts get the most use, and why.

i have been thinking of another set of stats as well.. one that sets distinctions..
say we divide the member board into categories..
1-10 votes=?
11-20 votes=?
21-30 votes=?
in this way, someone with a 4/5 score by 9 people will not outrank someone with a 3.9 by 21 votes..
personally i like a ranking system.. i can see where some wouldn't but thats sad IMO.. one shouldn't hide their stats, even admin.
some members however are bad enuff i can see why they would hide theirs

anyways, just a thought.

Hmm, Orph you and a few others love their stats and ratings and whatnot don't you I don't really like comparing people that much and don't see the need, the ratings system is there for snarkmarks and for newer members to see if they should ignore someone or not, really.
