Hey with the big E3 show coming up next week. What would you like to see?.

Me personally, I'm of course, looking forward to the next batch of HL2 goodness.

Also, I want to know about Xbox 2. Apparently Sega has a big announcement (getting back into console biz?)

I have been priviledged enough to attend this twice, but alas, my connection has been cut!(pitiful sobbing ensues).

Heres a link to gamespys take on the thing, with other links within the article to vendors and titles.

I'll definately be looking out for Xbox 2 info, and Sega's announcement is intriguing. I'd rather they don't go back into the console manufacturing business though - I like them as a 3rd party company to be honest. I'm keeping my finger's crossed for it to be Shenmue 3

Otherwise...I'm REALLY hoping for information on NICO (the sequel to ICO) and Phantom Crash 2 - both of which were spoken of ages ago and nothing has been heard since

One thing I'd like to see...me being there!!!!! I didn't get to goto GDC, and I can't goto E3 due to my final project!

Actually I'm not that mad about it.

I'd really like to see some stuff on Quake 4, as well as more demos of Unreal Engine 3. I definitely want to see some stuff on Xenosaga II and FFXII.

And as always, the Booth Babes

I'd love for Sega to make consoles again. They're the best at it (hardware wise), they just have terrible advertisements (Besides the Japanese Ad Campaign for the Sega Saturn).

I'd also like to see some stuff on NICO (I hope it stands up to its underrated predecesor).

Of course, I want an explination why I don't have a copy of HL2 in my hands right now.

And I'm always up for seeing what Konomi, id, and NAMCO have to offer.

I'll leave this area blank, since if I filled it, I would be bashing XBox (happy, Reno? ). [addsig]

Hehe, that'll do Crono

I wouldn't agree with you on Sega being the best in terms of hardware. The Saturn was primarily a 2D console, with the addition of 3D support as an afterthought when Sega saw the advances Sony and Nintendo were making in that field. The Dreamcast was a wonderful and underrated console, but mostly due to its games - the console itself broke damn easily and was the noisiest thing to ever grace a sitting room. Good controllers though...I'm glad the Xbox uses a similar design [addsig]

Highlight for x-box 2 specs: AMD64; 3.5GHz!!! 256 Meg of ram and a 500MHz graphics chip, the CPU has a 1mb l2 cache , whilst the graphics [ATI] offers 10MB of ram, mabe they'll get the new x800's?? so what ever happened to them G5's that microsft supposably bought for the Xbox2? [addsig]

Reno, you're saying that like there's something wrong with 2D. The "problem" you're talking about is exactly why I love my Saturn.

The dreamcast is not that loud, nothing near a PS2, just because of a different amount of fans. But Sega's hardware IS very good. They're responsible for some influence on the GameCube and GBA design. And if you've used either you will see what I'm talking about (speed and efficiency wise).

Also, when the PSone came out (Saturn was out almost a year before hand as well, if I'm not mistaken ... here anyway) Sony had a policy that games could ONLY be 3D. And the very good games that made that console (Excluding FFVII) were 2D!

And in the 2D area, the Saturn and Sega in general blew/blows the compitition away.

Also, there's some reasoning behind this. Sega is mainly a Japanese company, while Sony is Japanese, Playstation is heavily developed between Japan and US divisions. Talk to a lot of Japanese/Korean gamers, and they LOVE 2D Classic RPGs. So, I don't see how Sega took a bad turn when going in that direction.

However, I don't think you should or have to agree with me. Since there are some other 'subjects' we see eye to eye on

(Also since Saturn was out before the PSone, Sony knew what they had to 'improve' upon before releasing their console: 3D capabilities, color pallete, so on and so forth.)

AMD 64 isn't too grand (1Mb L2 Cache is standard). Now if it were a FX-53, that would be different (about a $800 difference).

I'm confused ... are you sure it's only 256Mb of ram?? It doesn't make sense to have that speed of processor and that little amount of ram, especially for Games. [addsig]

You certainly make good points - 3D isn't necessarily BETTER than 2D, but the hardware to power it is surely more complex, and as such I find it hard to pin down any reasoning behind Sega making "better hardware". Whether it was out first or not, it still wasn't as good at 3D....though looking at the original Shenmue running on the saturn I'm tempted to take that back.

As for the Dreamcast noise issue, it is VASTLY louder! I'm on my second Dreamcast and they have both been the noisiest consoles I've ever heard. Its not a fan issue but the disc drive I believe, it makes a racket as it jumps around. I've found the PS2 to be pretty near silent actually, but perhaps the Dreamcast has removed all hearing sensitivity

Don't get me wrong though, I love my Dreamcast, and I'm horribly protective over it when people try to slag it off (much like I am with any console, to be fair), but its more for the controller and the games than what hardware is hidden away in its little white body. [addsig]

Pah, X-box 2 can go burn in hell. I wonder how many games it'll 'steal' from the PC this time around...

I like multiplayer games on consoles because they are fun to play with friends, but I wouldn't buy one myself. I am looking forward to seeing what this new two-screen handheld console from nintendo is going to look like, I can't imagine how that is going to look. Then obviously there's D3 and HL2. I doubt Quake 4 will be showing very much though, since KFS is going to be a level designer for it, and he doesn't start until July...

They increased the cooling on the PS2 because the more hardware demanding games (Vice City) were causing things to overheat and in some cases break.

I read an article in Linux format recently where they shoved an AMD64 processor in a machine and ran Mandrake 9.2 64-bit edition on it and benchmarked it. The speed was actually 5.67GHz! I think they might want to use a 64-bit OS...

I never see that much of E3 and only see the media fall-out a few weeks later (released videos, screenshots etc). I just want to see HL2. After all, it should (when it is released...eventually) keep me occupied for about 5 years! [addsig]

Well, let's see... MGS3 for sure, I even infected my friend with the MGS love virus and now she write horrifying fanfics about Snake and Otacon being close and together, in a scary kind of way.
HL2 or bust, we all agree on this one, rite?
D3 screenies and maybe a playable demo, like ut2k4
Q4? I heard about it, but i think iD is putting all of it's work into D3 now [addsig]
