A friend showed me this site in the year 2000 also the year I got HL and started mapping and joined up not long after that.

I found it first via the reviews section - Lep. had reviewed my map gmdm1 - and then realised that there were these funky forum things First forums I ever used, in fact.

I searched for something, I can't remember what but it was mapping related. I found snarkpit and I thought it could be helpfull so I registered. [addsig]

I came here from some tutorial link I think about a year and a half ago. My maps have evolved a great deal since then but it's all been from making observations and not usually asking much. [addsig]

I discovered the snarkpit while looking for editing tutorials; I remember I added a couple of HL related links in my favorites like Valve-erc, Global Assault, and something called "ten four" (dedicated tor Single Player maps). But I guess this was the friendliest , that's how the snarkpit became my virtual hang-out.
