There's a trailor as well, only about 2 seconds of new footage in it though.

wow, great site design. I didnt think they were going to make an official site. more rely on fan sites? perhaps they were referring only to news.

It's a sweet site, and I'm anxious to see the new stuff that comes out at E3. I already watched that small trailer like 8 times for no apparent reason.
I'd be surprised if Valve wanted to rely on fansites at this point, especially given the unusual retardedness of Fragmaster at PHL and the community in general over HL2. Once the game's released they'll probably hand off the news reporting to fansites though.

The doom3 trailer looked cool, but am I the only one who thought those models looked strangely grainy? I really don't like some of those enemy designs, but everything else though really feels like Doom and looks really spooky.
As for the explosive gibbing, I'd think that's an homage to Doom 1/2 with the over-the-top violence.

Doom wouldn't be Doom without the comedy slant of wiping out raging hordes of mutants with ridiculously overpowered weapons ![]()
That's the charm, it's good mindless shooting..

Hehe- the biggest con of them all for anyone not in the US! You have to send the voucher off (which half the codes on them don't work anyway!) then you have to pay for shipping and customs, then get this- 6-8 weeks delivery from release date...
I'M NOT WAITING 6-8 WEEKS TO PLAY IT! I'VE ALREADY WAITED AND EXTRA YEAR!
Oh and that site looks quite similar to the CS CZ one... prolly made by the same people.

One I was impressed by was DOA: Ultimate. Despite being a remake of DOA1 and 2, they seem to have improved it to looking even better than the third. The level of interactivity in the levels is incredible for a beat em up. Oh and its online via xbox live, which will be fun. It wasn't a game I was going to bother buying since I already have the second game, but it seems to bare next to not resemblance to it anymore - it even has the extra characters present in the third game, more costumes, and new levels - seems like the whole collection and then some rolled into one...with online play

| I agree about the gameplay being like that but its just the way the enemies just seemed to turn into blood and gibs, rather than realistically react to damage. Obviously I'm not talking huge realism - these are wierd monsters afterall - I just mean if you shoot them in the leg, then the leg blows off type thing. It looks like its just "if they get damaged a lot, they blow up into blood!". |
"Ultra violence" beats realistic violence for the atmosphere of Doom still IMO, and remember the last game which had good "gibbing" locations on different body parts? SoF.... what a load of cack that was ![]()
But yes, it shouldnt be pure gibbing, perhaps just use a few large hit areas, or at least add the ability to say take a foes head off with certain weapons..
I'm commenting without seeing trailers though, so I may be wrong ![]()

| *cough* In the E3 movie there's a sequence where Gordon is fighting headcrabs and shoots a barrel, blowing the legs off of a headcrabbed scientist. It crawls after him... |
M8 it's not anything near the complexity you imagine. The model is like SOF2- it has a top half that when blown off goes into crawling... it's very simple and could easily be done with HL1 engine. Doom 3 makes zombies limp and stuff, very cool.

SoF was quite fun imo. blowing heads off reminds me of RE, Wish I never lost my 3rd one
I only have 1/2 now. I tried looking for the RE series on PC but I never found them.
I played the re-made version of the 1st on the GC a few days ago. It was really good.
