?Yes, the game is basically finished. We?re currently adjusting some minor elements. We were a little too aggressive with the initial release date and when the theft of the source code was revealed everything went wrong. By the way several persons have been charged in this case, and we?re hoping to make an official statement to the press within the next couple of weeks. I really have no further comments on that matter.?

I was wondering what happened to those guys. [addsig]

Their sentence should be a flogging by all applicable HL2 fans. [addsig]

A serious kick in the nuts is similar, in effect, to a "jocular" or "playful" kick in the nuts. I agree, though, some clem-based atrocity should be inflicted on the tossers responsible.

In my world playfull does not belong in that sentense

Horah for the capture though. I wonder how they track down people like that?

This is good news indeed, these people are just selfish, impatient and lack respect for developers - they deserve everything they get.

Oh dear... No of course it's not real, in fact this picture has been used about a million times for various other comedy messages.

If you had watched the interview movie of doug before e3, then you would know that the theft of the code was a real moral downer for the production team, maybe this will uplift the moral of all the producers to actualy get the game out in summer (sept.) [addsig]

too good for those bastards.

I think every person who has pre-owned HL2, or is planning on buying it should get to kick each 'hacker' in the nuts, hard.
Also, they have to pay to fly to an area near your house (such that they don't know where you live to 'get even' later on.)

These pages I have found very interesting since the theft:

http://www.gtwy.net/hl2/

and an IRC log which features to "thief" caught yesterday

http://www.gtwy.net/hl2/another_log.txt

(well worth a read ... "Tool" and "Nessum" handled the b?ta releases and wrote the *.nfo's, "bw" packed the files remotely, and some guy called "Ago" (the one who has been caught) pastes info on how he got into a valve box.)
