I have a similar Artec case, except mine is sealed and all black. The only embellishment I did was use an LED fan on the front intake, which gives a nice, subtle blue glow that comes from the front grill. Good enough for me, not like anyone else really sees it. I prefer that kind of simple elegance anyway.
BTX cases should be out in a few months I think. Supposedly they will have more efficient airflow/cooling, though I don't think they look any different on the exterior.

I'm sorry, but I simply do not understand why you would spend good money on trash like these stupid fancy cases. ![]() |
It's like doing up a car really. Rude boys and their Turbo-charged Fiestas and Golfs, with custom interiors etc. By the time you did all that, you could have bought a better car for less money. Similar mentality - people like to personalise their equipment.

as long as its a fetish that is harmless i see no issues myself.. many people, grownups especially will spend themselves broke to follow a dream of the perfect bass boat.. or a gun collection measuring in the 10's of 1,000's of dollars..these hobbies are destructive.. assuming you don't have a silver spoon up your arse.
a pc case is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things i suppose.. i don't go into the lights of clear sides much, but a nice jet black case with red trim.. now that would be something to be proud of ![]()

| Case.. Not bad.. Cables need to be wrapped, it looks a bit unkept. I would of been more impressed had you done the case conversion work yourself instead of buying a ready to go case off the shelf. =) heh heh.. |
Yea, Cables are going to get fixed up at the end of the summer when I get a new PS unit with sleeved cables already done. Then I'll fix the rest of the wireing. As for the case, I bought it not really for the window, but the case itself. Cause I loved it, and great for the price.

| Nice case, looks like somthing from Aliens |
I like my case, sort of, classy but modified.. But none of that "fancy" s**t like Thermaltake's Xaser cases... in fact any of their cases.. Stuff too flashy just looks ugly.
Anyways, with b-day comming I've got mom asking me what moddings I wanted to get. You, know, the non-expensive stuff. So I asked for a blue EL cable kit, since I have that red one in right now, but I wanted blue. The only reason I have a red one in there is cause Phil was going to throw it away so I said I'd take it.
I also want to get a second cathode light. But Im unsure if I should go with a second blue one or a UV light. Since, if I get the PSU I want (get the PSU eventually) It comes pre-sleved in UV blue.

Or a conversation piece. I'm taking my computer over to the squadron on Saturday, since Im using it for the DJ'ing. And Im pretty sure my case would look much more... nicer? or... appropriate than a plain beige case. Thats all I ever see... plain, and beige.. I want something different.

But most people "mod" their case for no reason.
If it's for your profession or for selling or pretty much anything except being tucked away in some corner as your personal computer, then I have no beef with it.
Also, all I ever see are black and purple cases. Also, Mac is the only company who ever had "beige", the others are off-white, and no where near any sort of yellow/orange on the spectrum. [addsig]
