I want to thank the guys of the #snarkpit IRC channel. The discussions (which are on a very high level... the most time...) are always very interesting, funny and l33t.

I AM ONLINE CAUSE OF TEH SNARKPIT!!!

So special thanks for a great time, funny stuff and "how to be 1337" to:

can someone explain exactly how to use IRC and to find the snarkpit channel?

it seems, you do a bit more than just turn it on as with ICQ or MSN.

Download mIRC (www.mirc.com) or BersIRC (w00t! http://bersirc.free2code.net)

Install and run it and type into the command-line: /server uk.quakenet.org
Whait till it is connected and type: /join #snarkpit

Than you are in the chat paradise.

Random: irc.quakenet.org
USA: us.quakenet.org
Germany: de.quakenet.org
Ireland: ie.quakenet.org
France: fr.quakenet.org
Sweden: se.quakenet.org

Usually when I'm in the IRC channels no one else is or there just idleing so no one talks to me.

I know this will sound like harping ... but ... personally I like chatzilla MUCH more then mirc ... (Chatzilla comes with a non-beta version of Mozilla and its integrated into the browser). [addsig]

Download Mirc or some other IRC program. Anyone with trillian say so and I'll explain how to make it work for that (it's a tad annoying to get setup). [addsig]

Chatzilla is just an extension for Firefox too ... myeh, I switch between both (MiRC & NNscipt <-> Chatzilla)

I downloaded mIRC and it seems to work. I tried the snarkpit channel and it seemed to work too. (so many things working for me in one day, thats amazing )
