Got the new Quasi album, the best thing about it for me is that they're still together, haven't heard anything about 'em in a while. Probably gonna go to their concert in a few weeks, only $10... yay for awesome bands that nobody's heard of. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

meant to post this a few days ago, but ive been busy.....took the wife to see joe satriani on the 3rd of april here in omaha....man o man.....best damn show ive seen in ten years....all you musician types out there will appreciate this set of factoids: not alot of stage show, just enough to really enhance the music...this boy provides enough drama on his own....even if yer not a musician, i suggest everyone should see him with Eric Johnson at least once....the technical proficiency displayed by both are amazing....i havent been that pumped before or after a show since i was a kid....and the best part, (im row two, orchestra section...in other words front row center by song two...<img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> ) joe reaches down and HANDS me a guitar pick, shakes my hand, and and points at me as he backs off with a huge s**t eating grin on his face.....man, ides of adolesance....<img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">i

i highly reccommend this show to all....and id travel this time to see him, no questions asked... <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

i have recently got into dance music. i know, i know, its not really music, all computer but its still good to listen too.

Also ive listened to both of JAck Johnson's albums and have to say they are pretty good. (its good to have a little slow music every once in a while)

Discovered Feeder as well, they are decent.

JJ has three albums so which are you talking about? I'm assuming In Between Dreams/Brushfire Fairytales? Not that I've heard anything other than In Between Dreams myself but you know.

Curious George? I don't think thats a Jack Johnson album - his three albums are called "In Between Dreams", "Brushfire Fairytales", and "On and On" image

EDIT: I had a search and Curious George is a film soundtrack or something that he did. His three main albums are the ones I mentioned.

Hey think of it as good news - now there's plenty more Jack goodness for you to discover <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Personally I like "In Between Dreams" the most, but there are good tunes on the other two as well.

The Chemical Brothers - Surrender

One of the best and most diverse albums I know. You have to be into Big Beat to like it, though. Also watch their videos.

Oh yeah, Jack fans should also check out The John Butler Trio, as they are pretty similar. My favourites are "Company Sin" and "Zebra" if you want to have a listen to some tasters.

Got the Skindred album "Babylon (Special Edition)" this morning, and I really like it. If you haven't heard them, they are a ragga-metal band, which isn't a genre with a great deal of bands in it to be honest, at least not that I know of. I'm not all that keen on their heavier stuff (such as the song "Nobody" from the game Need For Speed Underground 2), but their more playful jumpy stuff is great. They are like a mix of 311, Rage Against the Machine, and King Prawn or something. Its basically rap-rock with a nice laid back reggae slant. Check out "Pressure" (which I think is/was a single?), "Selector" or "Set It Off" if you like the sound of it.

I'd better be getting my Nightmare of You album tomorrow - I ordered it a week ago <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">

Went to Quasi/The Minders concert on the 14th, picked up some CDs I already had just 'cause I figure they can use the money. :P Awesome s**t, $10 for a 4-hour concert = sweeeeeeeeet.

I really need to clean up my music folders apparently since the only artist I can actually recognize at the moment is Rocky Volotato, kind of like Jack Johnson with different vocals.

Well the Nightmare of You album finally arrived, and its pretty good. Nothing revolutionary, but its a solid indie rock / emo debut. Most of the songs are fairly generic and comparable, with a couple of poor and a couple of great exceptions. As usual, it seems to be the songs I'd already heard that are my favourites, but its probably just due to familiarity. If you fancy some cleanly produced indie rock that isn't whiney but should still appeal to emo fans, check them out. Try tracks "Why Am I Always Right?" or "I Want To Be Buried In Your Backyard" if you want to test them out first <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Non-whiny emo? *explodes* I guess I was tired when I read it before 'cause I thought it was just another album by Skindred and I'm like "What, they're doing indie/emo now? DUBYA TEE EFF."

Well I'd say its more indie-rock than emo, but then emo is pretty much just indie rock thats whiney so I guess its not that far removed <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">
