I'm hooked on the new Nickelback album. If you have remotely liked any of their other stuff, pick it up.

Nada Surf - The Proximity Effect: Super duper good CD... wow. Super DUPER. I haven't downloaded their newest one entirely yet, but it's not as good... lamos.

Silver Jews - Tanglewood Numbers: Somehow the first two songs I randomly downloaded to sample it were the best, hrmph. Not bad overall, not great either.

I really really like Nada Surf.

I don't have any of their albums, but just a bunch of their songs. "High Speed Soul" was actually playing when I read your post.

My favorite song of theirs is by far "80 Windows" ... wouldn't you agree?

It is a good song, but so is Bacardi, so is Mother's Day, so is Amateur... so are most of their songs I have. ;P It's hard for me to say favorites all the tizzime, though.

Man, I've got the Nickelback album on loop, listening non-stop. I think it's an addiction.

The "FFVII - Advent Children" OST is a pretty damn good listen, particularly for those who are a fan of Nobou Uematsu's work. Great remixes of some Final Fantasy favourites as well as some good new tracks. Also reminds you of all the badass bits from the movie without actually sitting down to watch it again Can't imagine its easy to get a hold of through legitimate channels for the time being though, what with the film only being out in Japan and all

I got it off amazon.ca a few weeks ago. In true Japanese -> English fasion there are a few typographical errors in the disc listing though.

As for recent music, I saw Judas Priest live the other week and my ears were ringing for 2 days straight after. Played some great classics as well as some new ones. (Hellrider, Revolution, Worth Fighting For, Painkiller, You Got Another Thing Coming, Hell Bent for Leather, Diamonds and Rust) to name a few.

Anyone know where I can order the limited edition version of Rammstein's Rosenrot and have it shipped to Canada?

I've been digging the Deftones' self-titled album. It's not the kind of music I pay attention to though, I just listen while I'm doing other stuff since its got some interesting riffs and vocals <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Herzeleid.com says Rosenrot is based off tracks created for Reise, Reise, so it would've taken very little time.

This album, I liked Benzin, Rosenrot and Wo Bist Du a lot. Te Quiero Puta and Stirb Nicht Vor Mir suck. The rest are moderately interesting.

Until just now, I had Led Zeppelin 4 and other scattered songs that I'd downloaded, but with some new gift certificates, I decided to start building my collection. I started small just getting Zeppelin I and II, and man, they fail to dissapoint. Kick ass stuff <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

Maybe you should have saved up and just bought the entire collection / set type deal.

Yeah, the boxed set, but buying those ones just now pays off in the short term, and you don't get a huge deal by buying the set.

Plus it wasa 2 for 1 deal.

Blutengel - The Oxidising Angel: German goth/techno stuff, this is hardly their best CD since I've noticed the main singer (for this band and Terminal Choice) tends to have about 5 original songs on his CDs, then 5-7 remixes of songs he's already done! Oh, what people do these days for money. But yeah, the original songs are good, I don't bother with remixes in general 'cause they're basically the same.

Jack Off Jill - Clear Hearts Grey Flowers: Umm, gothish/rockish stuff, very melodic singing... when little Ms. Singer wants to sing. Sometimes she likes to scream (but melodically). I had some of the songs from this CD back in my youth (I.E. 2-3 years ago) and thought "gosh, let's go for some nostalgia!" So I did, and mostly it's turned out well.

Nada Surf - High/Low - Friggin' awesome mellowish rockish CD, just friggin' awesome, get it now. Please?

Nada Surf - Let Go - A pretty good CD of the mellowish rockish variety, probably my least favorite overall by them, but still much better than the "industrially produced poop" as Mr. Ervin would say.

Travis - 12 Memories: Well, tracks 1-5 are good/decent, and for me, that's like "Oh my god, don't bother with the rest of the CD." But then 6 was really friggin' awesome, and the rest were... better than 1-5! Excellent deal. Mellowish rockish again, though this time they join up with Scottish.

I'm halfway through Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights and I have to say it's pretty good. I really like "Obstacle 1." Check that song out if you can.

Just added Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, and Presence to my growing Zeppelin collection. I gave 'em all a listen, and they're all good, but Physical Graffiti is especially awesome.

w00t! 3 albums to go...

As my avatar may suggest, I'm listening to The Impossibles again. I actually found a CD in much better condition than the one I mentioned in the sense-association thread. It skips a lot less, only on two or three tracks. I've ripped them to WAVs and found some tracks with errors so I got Exact Audio Copy and am going to re-rip them with error correction then encode them all to 192kbps ogg

<3 ogg

Bah! EAC isn't working, all the WAVs it produces are silent <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">
