Monqui -- A year and a half ago Ratatat came to my school to play a small concert, but as the brits say I "couldn't be arsed" to go see it. After the concert "Seventeen Years" was played at every party I went to for the next couple months, until it got usurped by the remix of "Call on Me" as the go-to party song.

It's good to see you again Monqui, I wish my school didn't block ports so that I could get on IRC and talk music with you again. Coincidentally, I'm listening to GY!BE right now.

Oh man, Seventeen Years is from their first CD (their eponymous one), which is good, but not great I would say. They've made some *serious* growth since then- and Classics really does live up to the name. First CD I've actually bought in months.

And always good to hear about GSY!BE.

If you want, you can catch me on some IM platform (I think I still use all of the ones listed here still, minus the ICQ one).

I thought I'd plug in my ipod to sleep in with some relaxing music last night. The result was me staying up till about 4am searching for tracks I haven't listened to for a while.

A few light, jaunty songs I remember enjoying listening to yesterday:

Kings of Convenience - I'd rather dance with you
Phoenix - Too Young
The Postal Service - Such Great Hights
E.L.O. - Mr. Blue Sky
Die Fantastischen Vier - Geboren (German)
The Chemical Brothers - Asleep from Day
Air - All I Need
Air - Ce Matin La
Damien Rice - Eskimo

Spartan, can't say that I've heard of him.

Yesterday and late last night I was doing a lot of work on my newest art project (still have yet to start work on that table, for lack of agreement on the design) in which I'm doing a small poster sized version of this old comic panel:

Anyway, the point of this is that the most recent Coldplay album X&Y is great to draw to.

Also, I know Grey's Anatomy is a chick show, and therefore the theme song (How to Save a Life by The Fray) can't be very manly... but I'm really enjoying it right now.

I got Ziggy Marley's new album 'Love is my Religion' today, and I'm really really happy about it. I was worried Ziggy might change up from his dads style and go for something more modern and 'hip', but it's just straight reggae, and it's really good.

Much love. If you liked Bob's stuff at all, you'll like Ziggy's.

Well, Weird Al's new album got released today. It's called Straight Outa Lynwood, and I torrented it. I enjoyed listening to the song 'Don't Download This Song' simply for the irony.

Lyrics: (lol)

Once in a while maybe you will feel the urge
To break international copyright law
By downloading MP3s from file-sharing sites
Like Morpheus or Grokster or Limewire or KaZaA

But deep in your heart you know the guilt would drive you mad
And the shame would leave a permanent scar
'Cause you start out stealing songs and then you're robbing liquor stores
And sellin' crack and runnin' over school kids with your car

So don't download this song
The record store's where you belong
Go and buy the CD like you know that you should
Oh, don't download this song

Oh, you don't wanna mess with the R-I-double-A
They'll sue you if you burn that CD-R
It doesn't matter if you're a grandma or a seven year old girl
They'll treat you like the evil hard-bitten criminal scum you are

So don't download this song
Don't go pirating music all day long
Go and buy the CD like you know that you should
Oh, don't download this song

Don't take away money from artists just like me
How else can I afford another solid gold Hum-Vee
And diamond-studded swimming pools
These things don't grow on trees
So all I ask is, "Everybody, please..."

Don't donwload this song (Don't do it, no, no)
Even Lars Ulrich knows it's wrong (You can just ask him)
Go and buy the CD like you know that you should (You really should)
Oh, don't download this song

Don't donwload this song (Oh please, don't you do it)
Or you might wind up in jail like Tommy Chong (Remember Tommy)
Go and buy the CD (Right now) like you know that you should (Go out and buy it)
Oh, don't download this song

Don't download this song (No, no, no, no, no, no)
You'll burn in hell before too long (and you'll deserve it)
Go and buy the CD (Just buy it) like you know that you should (You cheap bastard)
Oh, don't download this song

Barenaked Ladies rock.

The band is good too. Their new album is pretty bitchin. Not much different from their old stuff, but that's not a bad thing <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Yeah, they are really good. If you want some choice songs besides "I Spy" check out these ones:

Either Way
So Longs
Happier
Two Points for Honesty
Demons
Barrel of a Gun
Rocket Ship

some recommendations, not for people who don't like 'rough' music.

Pig Destroyer.
Job For A Cowboy.
Amon Amarth
Suffocation
Vader
Krisiun
Blood Red Throne
Kataklysm

Some more easy listening:
Edguy
Dragonforce
Sonata Arctica

Should keep u busy for a while, or make you fall of ur chair and get brain damage if you opt for the first list, eitherway it's going to be good!

I haven't posted on here for ages, but do you mean the guy who wrote the score to American Beauty. If so, the man's a genius.

Arctic Monkeys - Riot Van ... such a chill song and I have to admit I'm a sucker for the accent.

At the risk of turning into an old man I really like Creedence Clearwater Revival, today at the gym when I was lifting weights to try and fix my chicken legs, I couldn't stop singing Bad Moon Rising.

Foo Fighter - On the Mend ... not a bad acoustic song.

That's all I've got.

I just grabbed a ton of Coltrane and Parker but I don't have time to go through it all now.

I really like the entire Arctic Monkey's debut album.

I'm handing it out like candy to all my friends who I think might like it. Spreading their music like a virus over here.

I listened to Bone Thugz N Harmony when I was ... 13. Stopped when I was 14 or 15.

Now I'm getting back into them. They make me laugh.

My Chemical Romance - Black Parade. Pretty good, will probably be a grower, its a bit over the top though <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Quite a departure from their 1st two albums (which are some of my favourite albums btw, recommend checking them out too.). So chuffed they got a no1 single. Its not the sort of thing I would expect on top of the charts but its good to see.

Hello there.
