I've never dared have a party at my parent's house cos this is the sort of thing that would result in me being castrated And quite rightly, i'm quite attached to my balls!

daft japanese Dreamcast game I think the whole dreamcast community loves it -- I never really got into it : I think it was a joke on how you can only ask the same exact questions over and over and over.

Shenmue?! DAFT?! I think I'll have to collect that bounty on your head now...

The joke is kind of about how farfetched and utterly logic-less the game was. I mean, if your father was murdered by a Chinese guy, do you walk around your local neighborhood asking about Chinese people or a black car? It was just kind of funny and ridiculous with some of the conclusions Ryo draws from the foundation-less testimonies of crazy people. Oh, and the less-than-great voice acting was just the cherry on top. It's kind of difficult to explain; anyone who's played the game knows what it's like though. Great game, and the graphics were amazing on Dreamcast. Still beats out a good number of PS2 games too.

Yeah, it's a really cool game. Hard for me to really get into...but there is a lot of "normal" stuff to do. You can just tinker around like you live in Japan and that's about it if you want. Some of the characters are just hilarious. [addsig]

The sequel lost some of the original's charm and world interaction, but ups the scale of environments hugely and makes you feel truly part of a large thriving city, and gives a somewhat more dramatic storyline. Pity they took out the cool forklift driving job - so much fun, and it introduced a proper job into a game without being overly monotonous or pointlessly simple.
