I downloaded a movie file off Torrent but when I play it in QuickTime, I dont get any video, just audio. The screen stays white.

I also get this error message before the movie plays:

"You may experience problems playing a video track in 'hackers.mov' because the required compressor could not be found. Would you like to close the movie or continue?"

Thanks for any help

Try getting a newer version? Mine always did that if I was running an out of date version [addsig]

There shouldn't be a problem with file integrity if he's hearing it. I'd just guess that you're missing the right codecs...

Maybe try Quicktime Alternative ?

Or use Gspot to examine your file.

Quicktime alternative.
Simply because the only thing worse then the quicktime format is the quicktime player.
Try finding a plug in for the classic media player, it works really well. [addsig]

While on the subject, remember to get Real Alternative from freecodecs as well. Stream real media and watch real media movies without having to install the worst, most annoying media 'utility' ever imagined,

Personally, I HATE the Divx players. I like the Codec though.

I don't think he'll go there unless there's a link, so...

http://www.freecodecs.net/

mmm, good codecs ... [addsig]
