Thanks all. I'm not *entirely* sure I've got the job yet, but I think it's almost a done deal.
It's a research fellowship at Pacific Northwest National Laboratories. The facility is essentially Black Mesa incarnate. It is located right next to the Hanford nuclear reservation in Washington State where much of the plutonium was produced during the cold war. I'll get to do some really cool work on carbon nanotubes, play with super-powerful lasers (no kidding), and if I'm lucky, discover something really significant and get my work published.

Pfft, it's nothing, a small drizzle.
Happy Birthday, I didn't think it was possible to actually get hired for a job in Oregon anymore ... I thought all the companies just started giving 7 straight interviews for fun. Good luck.
[EDIT]
Oh, Washington ... well that explains it all. [addsig]

Ok you can stop making us all look stupid now. Seriously though that is awesome. I have always wanted to work at a Black Mesa like facility. Mainly because I'd hope something would go wrong and I could be like Gordan Freeman. I am weird like that.

I won't be involved in any of the Nuke stuff, and unfortunately I don't think they'll be giving me a hazard suite, but I'd BETTER get to do more than push a sample into a big reactor thingy![]()
