I suppose they hope it will prove to be a scare tactic, and nobody will download any warez of HL2 for fear it is Valve's cheeky version.

To be honest, I actually find this very funny. To think loads of people will be all over the internet saying to each other that they have HL2, only to find their accounts removed...
