All that I know about Kansas;

1. It has corn.

2. It's where Dorothy came from in The Wizard of Oz.

3. It has corn.

Make the most you can of the move, learn how to make toys/clothes/shoes from corn, learn lots of popcorn recipies, read Stephen King books etc, and I'm sure everything will be fine.

Good luck, and have some corn

I've been thier before. It's a City so you can't really notice how flat it is. Why do you hate it so much anyway.

i don't hate it, never gave it that much time or thought.. kansas is just to flat for my tastes.. and thats saying something considering i live in jonesboro arkansas.. i am just glad i am not from jonesboro

home is where you hang your hat bud, you may just like it.

That's odd. My sources have informed me that home is where the heart is.

I personally hate all the wetness of washington, it's always raining, it's almost always gray and cloudy so I dont care.

I you want to know what rain really is then move to Florida. I hate the humidity here. It's like a freakin jungle. I plan to move to Tempe Arizona after highschool.

i just got in from phoenix last night/yesterday..

i grew up in phoenix, its nothing like when i was a kid now.. its big, its nasty and its big and nasty.

the point is, every place has its perks and pitfalls. if you are going to tempe because you have some idea its paradise, your in for a rude shock. i lived in florida for 4 years, it beats tempe hands down, BUT at least in arizona you can plan things without thinking of rain

kansas city is clean, i have never seen smog of any sort, and you better be ready for the cold and windy conditions of winter. i dunno how it is in washington state, but its bitter in kansas.

i have seen, or lived in 45 of these 50 states and of them all i would pick utah, it has the best views.. course i would have to live there without the wife, she hates it.. no grass she says

anyways, home is where you hang your hat.. you can live there without liking it, as opposed to where your heart is and liking it deeply

Sorry, no. The only reason why it may rain so much where you live is because of coastal storms. In Washington and most of Oregon, it almost constantly rains during non-summer seasons. It's not caused by storms, it's just how the weather is. Since it usually doesn't stay cold enough to snow (except in middle - North Washington and East Oregon) and it doesn't really get all that warm outside of summer, in which is rains a lot anyway.

However, with the amount of Rain that these states get you'd imagine the drivers here would know how to drive in the rain ... but they don't. Here's a good idea. Slam on your breaks when you can't see out your windshield with the wipers all the way on. I hate those people. They cause accidents (simliar to the one I was in, which was caused by someone infront of me following far too close) [addsig]

crono, you amaze me, you are so smart at times, and other times ___________flatline_____

how can you live in oregon and not know why it rains so much there? its geographical, not

? quote:
it's just how the weather is.

it rains there because it has to, the mountains are to high to the east and oceanic moisture backs up due to the greatness of the height.. the jet stream forces more in than the air can hold and it rains.

in the winter months the jet stream follows a different path than summer months.. the same effects happen over arkansas, the jet stream brings all that water and dumps it on us from canada and such in winter, and the gulf in summer.

anywho's it doesn't rain just "because"

my advice, invest in some rain-x, its the best invention since forever

As in, it isn't a tropical storm. Meaning, that's how the f**king weather is

It doesn't change. Geographical precipitation and storms created off another's coast are two different things. A storm across the coast isn't nearly as constant or consistent as precipitation. <- my point [addsig]

yeah well, if you could lower the hills to the east a bit, you would be crying for rain i promise.. its geographical i promise

*still giggling*

you made my day.

BTW, i may not know as much about weather as you do about PC's, but i studied meteorology for a year in school, i know exactly why it rains in any location in the USA at least

I never said you didn't ...

I don't understand how you translated my valid point into, "You're stupid about weather by saying it rains 'because' (which I didn't say)"

However, you mistook my explination. There is a major difference in the weather patterns.
I'm well aware of how dry it would be with out the percipitation build up. (Just look at Nevade and Arizona, right on the other side of the Rockies.) [addsig]

/me giggles

its ok crono, i don't know why i do things either sometimes

the fact that you have all the rain, doesn't effect arizona, nor nevada much, from where you live, you more effect montana and idaho, but thats neither here nor there as they say.

its early, i am feeling better than last night, and you are here to poke fun at.. besides its rare that i can participate in a topic with you and know enough to continue to participate for more than one reply.. allow me my moments please

you have a way of making me feel perpetually stupid.

You're compelled for some reason.

I was talking about the Rocky Mountains blocking off Arizona/Nevada ... not Oregon (even though a small chunk of the rockies in here). [addsig]

We understand why it rains, the point is that it rains ALL THE TIME. It's not like we have intermittent storms that dump loads of rain in one go, it's more a constant drizzle that doesn't even hardly qualify as rain! I believe that Astoria Oregon has the highest yearly rainfall in North America (something like that). The Pacific Northwest has the only temperate rain-forests in the world. We can go three moths or more without ever seeing the sun! [addsig]

Wow I thought Florida was bad. Atleast we see the sun. I feel sorry for you now. I would hate to live in a place where it rains everyday. I'd rather see the blazing sun everyday.

It's not bad because it goes with the seasons. Usually those several month periods are durring late fall and Winter.

At least someone understands what I was saying [addsig]
