I know what your thinking, WTF? This has to be the dumbest thread ever.

Try to be serious when you post. I just want to know if any gets a pain in either one of the arms that occurs everyonce in a while. Preferably the one that you use for most of your tasks. Everyonce in a while I getting a pain in my right arm that I have to wait for it to go away. It doesn't sting but it feels like someone is pressing against really hard. I don't know if it is from using the computer more than I should so I want to see if other people who use their computers as much as I do have the same occuring pain.

Sounds like a heart attack is coming

To be serious, i never have pain in either arm from using a computer. The only pain I get is from extended use, and the only places i get it is in my wrist. What you have doesn't sound good or normal.

Like Yak, its my wrists that get sore from extended use as opposed to anywhere else. I also get some pain in my left pinky finger from extended gaming because I tend to bend it a bit too much from using ctrl. I should probably either get another keyboard or swap my shift and ctrl functions onto caps lock and shift...but I never do.

I also get pain in my hands wrists and fingers. I attend drafting courses every day and do a lot of sketches. These combined with the use of my computer are what I think are causing all this pain. Rest would probably temporaly fix it but I still have to do my drafting and that is probably worse on my arms and hands than the art and computer combined.

I get the exact same thing at my right foot. As far as i can tell, the bones seem to get stuck in eachother and can't move for a few seconds. All the while giving me extreme pain in the region. Perhaps because of my BMI (which is under 25).

on a serious note, low calcium levels cause low grade cramps and pains..

if you ever get "growing pains" as my parents used to say, its caused by low calcium levels.

take calcium pills daily and those pains go away.

I already do and it doesn't seem to help. And we're talking about horse-dosage here, not a pathetic 30mg pill once a day.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but wouldn't 30mg a day be a huge dosage?

Ok I was thinking normal was about 600 grams. I was way way off then. I should've payed more attention in drug trafficing class.

Wait, spartan, you thought NORMAL was 600 GRAMS? You do realize that the M in mg means milli, or one thousandth of a gram. So, 30mg is 20,000 times smaller than 600 grams.

As for pains in arms, I only had major pains when part of my elbow decided to die. That's about it though. [addsig]

600 grams a day would mean your sore arm is caused by carrying home a months supply. buy less of them at a time.

but seriously, try and be aware of how tense you are, or how good/bad your posture might be. it only takes a second to think about whether your shoulders and neck are too tense, or whether your holding a controler too tightly, or when did you last even move. it's easy to sit for a few hours and not think about any of that, not move much move than a few extremities while the rest of you is tight as a drum.

so just try to be aware of yourself before the pain starts. stick a mirror on top of your monitor if it helps any.

Ahhh stupid me! I understand the metric system it's just that because us Americans never use it I sometimes forget. 600 grams would be a death sentence.

I hope we weren't talking about Viagra here. If they did have 600 gram viagra pills those things would probably blow your balls off.

It wouldn't hurt you, but I'd be amazed if you could swallow that much. Try eating ten or so boxes of chalk and you will have gotten about that dosage.

Seriously though, I never have any sort of pain from using the computer that can't be explained by tense muscles. I think you might want to see a doctor about this.
