i know this may sound stupid, but what good would it do without an engine to power it..???

if its really stupid, just add it to the list of all my past stupid postings.. yes i know its long, but someday you might sell it on ebay.. who knows

the sdk would show you what files are going to be used, documents with explanations. graphical compilers etc. [addsig]

No. And it's not coming out until HL2 is released. At least, that's what they say.

They've been secretly showing the "popular" mod teams the SDK (Maybe NS team, FLF team, etc.? DoD team is part of Valve now...) already. So chances are they lied and they're not releasing it before HL2. [addsig]

Yes i read that in a interview, they were taking a different MOD team each weekend. As for HL2 I heard gabe said it`ll be a close one, but he expects to hit the september 30th release. [addsig]

Um...

I heard that the map editor (in the SDK probably?) comes with it's own version of the game engine, for quick and easy map testing.

Also, Valve have repeatedly claimed that the SDK will come out prior to HL2's release
