Ok, don't beat me up because it has been a long time coming but I thought the least I could do was let my old friends here at the honorable SnarkPit know we're online. After gross amounts of blood, sweat, and tears (not to mention a lawsuit, company changes, and spending a few $$$ to boot) GlobalAssault is back online and here to stay.

We'll focus on giving gamers a place to play and help get maps out to the community without having to click though 60 banner screens and pop-ups. The site has launched today in what I am calling version 7 (don't ask about version 6) with the same base features of version 5. Now with the base site up I can expand into some of the additional things that were intended for v6.

Stop by and give a shout at http://www.globalassault.com

It's nice to see GA back up. I don't think I'm going to be doing much HL2 mapping, but it's still good to see the old place back online. [addsig]

Tony,

I love the looks, but think I'll just bow out this time.. If even a small percentage of the viewpoints and worse, the admin is still around that was in the old version, it would be best I think. The concepts are just to opposite for my taste, and quite honestly, I do not see myself "broadening" them to encompass the mindset over there..

My respects for the dedication you have exhibited to get Ver 7 up and running.

good luck old friend.

Jon

So we can host maps there? (yes, no?)

And how much webspace do we get? Think you can make room for about 50+ megs for classic?

Yes, member profiles are being expanded to allow for personal file downloads.. however member download storage limits will not be quite 100mb. Adding another map type is no sweat though. PM me and we can figure out the details on getting the maps up for downlaod and in the search engine.

Yet we have to register to download maps.
