| I know that Hammer is a newer version of Worldcraft; but a lot of people are still using WC 3.3. So my question is for the 'pros': Do you prefer Worldcraft 3.3 or Hammer ? |
use the newest version, your PC can handle..
it is my understanding that, the difference is mainly in the video card.. i would go with hammer, simply because i like the newest of everything.. but at your level of experience.. 3.3 would suit just as well

Aye, i have Hammer 3.4 because World Craft had way too many bugs, and hammer has most of them fixed.
As for Hammer 3.5, I used it for a few minutes, but im just going to stick with 3.4- im not going to bother find updated FGD`s for 3.5 and all that.

you know whats funny, in two years of using 3.3 and hearing about all those bugs, i never did find one of my own..
the only insurmountable obstacle that 3.3 posed was, my map "deja_vu_2" refused to convert from 2.1 to 3.3 .. otherwise, it ran smooth as silk
call me lucky i reckon..

I dont know what your system specs are but some bugs included 3D window turning black(i think), lots of crashing, saving bugs, and other bugs i cant think of atm.
I think they all happen alot on older machines

i had 2 PC actually that used 3.3
1) K62 400 with 96 megs ram and a 16 meg voodoo banshee card- known bug, the card tended to over-accelerated, i had to slow it down to 3/4 of full.. 9this is the PC that had issues with DJV2 but it was not the pc's fault)
2) 1.4 GHZ Athlon T-Bird 512 megs ram ,with an Nvidia 64 meg 440se - no complications at all..

| I think you all know which editor is really better. |
The one which 99% of mappers use, that was semi-created by Valve in the first place? Wait, by that reasoning, Windows is the best OS in the world... "they're all as good as each other in their own special way, children"
