I put all of my Half-Life mods into the same folder, and adjusted the registry settings to match the new arrangement. I did this for two reasons:
1) So that I wouldn't have a dozen copies of hl.exe
2) So that I could access my mods from the Custom Game menu
All of my other mods still work fine, but Blue Shift crashes when I load a map. It gives me an "illegal operation" error message but it's invisible for some reason (you have to click where the Close button would be if it was there).

Don't see why you would have needed to put them all in the same folder
to get them to appear in the custom game menu...there are ways to do it
without putting everything in the same folder. Can't really say what it
would be...there are many possiblities. The only thing I can think of
is that Blue Shift uses slightly different resources than the original
game(s) and that might be the cause of the issue.

The original Half-Life uses resources from the valve folder and Blue Shift uses resources from the bshift folder. Also, maps from the original Half-Life work fine in Blue Shift... before this happened.
How do I get it to show up in the Custom Game menu when it's in a different folder? If I could do that then Blue Shift could go back where it came from and everything would work like normal. But then I'd have two hl.exe files... [addsig]

Blue Shift has it's own custom file-system and it's own EXE, actually, unlike OpFor, which was simply just an add-on folder to the HL directory (/gearbox). It's designed in a way to use this EXE file, since it can be played standalone, and this is why I assume VALVe/Gearbox has no plans to release it via Steam.
So I'd say, you're out of luck.

Put the bshift directory in your Half-Life directory... a lot of mods use both their own directory and the valve directory.

THX RabidMonkey777, I reinstalled Blue Shift and it uses bshift.exe, not hl.exe. So I guess I'll never be able to get it to work from the Custom Game menu. :'-(
